Counterintelligence is the network that protects Government and Military secrets. They are also the people responsible for finding out what has leaked and how it got out. Now as we all know ATS is about finding the truth and uncovering secrets. So you could say our mission is the Exact Oppisite of theirs. Do you all think Counterintelligence units might be after what we know and how accurate our information is?

Doubt it.

A lot.

No, not really, because people on ATS dont do intelligence. They dont try to have some secrets about militaries technologies or industrial process to sell them or to serve another governement like chinese or russian spies used to do. We are not a threat for the security or the peace of a country. I think they dont mind about us, and consider us just like some curious goofies.

They are protecting what we are interested in knowing, but that doesn't automatically mean that anyone engaging in counterintelligence actually KNOWS what they are protecting. They may just be doing their job, to make sure there are no illegal threats or anything.

I think they probably laugh a lot at what is posted here
If they were concerned you knew something - then expect an early morning wake up.

On the whole ATS recycles sensationalist news - dredged from some pretty infamous sources. The rule of intelligence gathering tends to be primary source material. Once its on the net it is used and useless. No one here is going to break an oath taken with their government in public - its all speculation. If they did then they would have the dawn wake up.

Actually, I think that ATS is the opposite of any counter-intelligence agency...After all, we "Deny Ignorance" & a counter-intelligence agency "Promotes Ignorance".

I think if we get to close to something they don't want people to know then we will be taken care of.

I don't think they are after us, but if we find something they just would call us terrorists and make us the bad guys! It's always like that!

No.

As has been mentioned before, what's posted here is links to other news stories (and much of it is wrong or sensationalized as many of our members are pointing out.) There's actually very little research done here so the CIA/whomever really wouldn't use this as a source.

There was a program on the CIA and it showed their techs combing through news sources and other types of information and compiling huge documents to be processed for information (it eventually gets chopped down to manageable size by their techs and fed to the senior staff and the President.)

The CIA does watch CNN and Yahoo and foreign news sources. But not us... unless it's just to chuckle.

Without a doubt yes. Anyone what says otherwise is a fed.

I know this was a weird question. It came to mind because the Mission of Counterintelligence is to cover up the truth and promote ignorance. ATS, in forfilling our mission, Go out of our way to find the truth and Deny Ignorance. Often finding the truth makes us a gathering place for info from everywhere on and sometimes off the internet. In that way you can use the analogy of us being like an "Information Puddle". If you have a leak in a water pipe that you can't see but you know that there is a puddle of water on the floor, wouldn't common scense tell you to start at the puddle and work backwards to find the leak? Useing this Analogy, don't you think Countintelligence might not use us as a starting point in their search for Information Leaks. That was the thinking behind this thread.

Insulting what you see as the mistakes of others doesn't uncover the truth!

I'm not perfect, I make mistakes and I occasionly get fooled by some of their Info dupes. A few weeks back I spent a week chaseing a false leed on the B-2 Anti-gravity Research Project. I ment this thread as a way to generate new ways to help ATS members avoid being duped. Sorry if I wasted everyone's time chaseing a false theory. B.T.W. I started this thread after several of my bookmarked links Disappered. They worked one day and then suddenly disappeared and became "invalid URL's" the next.

Sorry Again!

They aren't after what we know other than our names and addresses. We are likely added to a list of government subversives for frequenting and posting to this site.

Any real secrets that get leaked here will probably earn this site an instant offline status of indefinite length.

I actually doubt that.
With the enourmous amount of posts on here, somebody must have put some real info on it, even if it's just by chance.
And if the "bad guys" do come here, then I doubt it's "just to have a chuckle", and saying that means you (not you specifically heel) don't take the site seriously.
I do take this site seriously, I do think that facts have been posted on here, whether knowingly by the poster or not, and I honestly think the bad guys don't give a damn what we say because they see us as ants, easily extinguished if we become a problem.
They underestimate us.

Despite what most popular outlets think, our counterintelligence is a lot better than they let on. But are they interested in what we know? Unlikely, they probably know it already. In all likelihood they have people surfing the internet looking not for knowledge that gets out, but for leaks. Leaks are what scare are Counterintelligence more than anything. All of us on ATS know something or want to find out. But we'd probably be dismissed if we came forward. But someone that really KNOWS something, that's what really scares'em
