ATS makeover!

I've been here on ATS since the big bang and it's become a darn addiction!! Hell man, this site has been out of this world (pun unintended!).
Having said that, I'm glad to know that ATS is soon gonna get a makeover (thank God almighty for small mercies ) and about time too.

But I have a small suggestion. The present background colors at bts and pts are good - light yellow and light blue. But the one on Ats is a stodgy grey!
Can't we have some other background colour to liven up the proceedings?

I would think a very dark blue with white or yellow letters would be an option.

What color combos do you guys suggest?

I quite like the grey. It reminds me of the seedy govt. agencies we should all be prying into!

ATS is gonna get a makeover soon, huh? Where did you hear that? I think the site is already just fine, with enough features to make a hardcore drainer happy. New things only serve to confuse me.

Since so much time is spent reading text on ATS, I suggest black, with yellow or white lettering. I like this guy's site- very easy on the eyes:

Well Simon, yes. Who is "Simone"? That's correct.

Not to mention it's an incredibly good color for our content, the "Gray Area" of reality is what we delve into everyday here. We try to find the truth that often hides in the gray area between what's said and what happens.

The "e" was a joke. "Simon Grey ( yeah, I know it's gray). With all the ATS is a govt agency threads, I thought it would be funny to make Simon an alien to fuel the fire.

Not really, the "e" was a typo, but what the hey, it makes as good of a story as some of the other stuff I've read here.

I think you've confused the server upgrade with a makeover. ATS had a bandwidth makeover, this much is true.

As far as aesthetics and reading go, I find black text on gray to be the easiest on the eyes by far, or something similar like deviantart. Any background color lighter than that will eventually give you a headache. On the other hand bright text on a black background make a website feel empty, gloomy, and insubstantial, and the bright text feels like it's burning into your brain. The only alternative I've seen that's as easy on the eyes as ATS is light gray text on a dark gray background. Has a nice solid feel to it too. JMO...

The colors keep the content of the posts in focus, and not what is going on around them.

That, or the alien overlords slash government agents running the site said to make it those colors because it makes broadcasting subliminal messages through the screen easier. I can never remember...

Please, PLEASE, do not change to something that causes more eye strain!! Light background with dark lettering is easier to read, especially for those loooooong threads!!.......( 'sides, gray ain't sooo bad).

MajesticJax - I just spent about an hour on Maddox' site. I still have tears in my eyes. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It made reading the rest of the thread worthwhile.
