Hmmm interesting article I found buried on the bottom of the Arab World News page today.
Last week the US announced the re-opening of diplomatic relations with Moammar Gadhafi and the Libyan Government.
When Moammar Gadhafi and the Libyan Government was tied to the downing of the Pan Am flight 103 flight many years ago the free world has pretty much dealt with Libya on an unofficial basis.
Since 9-11 the Libyan Government has wised up and has turned over it's WMD program to the UN and the US and now it seems Moammar has seen the light and is coming clean in regards to the terrorism issue, and for Libya's turn from the dark side it looks as if she will be rewarded for her positive actions.
Now this makes for an interesting topic because Libya sits on a large sum of oil and the way it is looking Moammar is asking the US for help in modernizing Libya’s oil infrastructure.
If things work out between the US and Libya, this could down the road help with a secure supply of crude in the future and a base for intelligence on the WOT.
I guess time will tell, but this news does look positive !
Here is the link to the story.
