The Necronomicon "The Wanderings of Alhazred"

As has been pointed out already in this thread, The Necronomicon is the fictional creation of HP Lovecraft and others who have extended his fictional universe. Lovecraft is an excellent writer and his mythos is fun to explore, but it has about as much historicity as the Spiderman comic series.

If you wish to explore texts truly written in the ancient and medieval eras that deal with, among other things, the dark arts and the invocation of evil spirits, etc., a good place to start is at the following link:
