Looks like Stonehenge is not unique.
Do you think this culture developed separately or was the knowledge shared?
Ufo's or sea travel?

Roper,
Considering Stonehenge predates this find by a mere couple thousand years, I'd have to say they developed seperately.

It's not very hard to set up markers to mark the solstices and equinoxes, plus these sort of astronomical events have long held great importance for native peoples all over the globe. Probably because they are so easy to mark.

Harte,
you made it sound like it was expected of them to notice importance of winter solistice, so they places 100 and some stones on proper location.

This is most definitly nice find, and I'm looking forward to read more about it. It will be very interesting to see the link between both Stonehenges.

Is there any info on how massive stones are?

I was 6 years old when I noticed the sunlight coming in my bedroom window was in different spots on the wall at different times of the year. By age 7 I had a whole year of masking tape on the wall showing the different months.
At that age, I had never even heard of Stonehenge. I was proud of myself because I thought I had discovered something grand.

I don't believe for a minute that I was the only one on earth to have noticed this and also to "do" something with it.

At that age I was way to busy playing to notice those details.
In other word, I believe this makes you special, as you marked those spots.

My grand mother was totaly unschooled. She believed that moon was resting behind local mountains. That was 50 some years ago. What people believed 1000-2000 years ago?
