Diplomats: Enriched uranium found in Iran

VIENNA, Austria (AP) -- The U.N. atomic agency found traces of highly enriched uranium at an Iranian site linked to the country's defense ministry, diplomats said Friday, adding to concerns that Tehran was hiding activities aimed at making nuclear arms.

The diplomats, who demanded anonymity in exchange for revealing the confidential information, said the findings were preliminary and still had to be confirmed through other lab tests. But they said the density of enrichment appeared to be close to or above the level used to make nuclear warheads.




I can see two options here,

1)The materials were contaminated from Pakistan.
2)The Iranians have had a covert nuclear program and have a nuclear weapon.


I believe in option 2, it is the only reason why the Iranians would be playing this game of brinksmanship, If they suddenly declare nuclear capability and say they have a few nuclear weapons, it wont matter what targets you hit, the potential of a nuclear weapon hitting the middle east becomes 100% you cannot annihilate all targets unless you have intel which is clearly something that is lacking.
