1. More people vote for their favorite American Idol than in Primary and General elections. And they cast an informed vote because they pay more attention to their american idol than they do who governs them and their lives.

2.. Well, i guess the other 9 aren't so important after you dwell on that for a minute. No use getting into porno, drugs, consumption and obesity rates, government corruption and media propaganda. #1 reason is nuf said.

Amen, Ronisha. Thats very true.

Hell, Ive seen more porn and nudity here in Europe than I have in the states. Alot more alcohol consumption and abuse too.

And every government is corrupt. Everyone just seems to focus on the problems in America because its the only superpower.

top 10 reasons why america suck

im sorry but replace the name of america with every other blooming country out there, why do people insist on looking at the negitives in a country? yea america has problems but so has everyone else out there just because america appears to be a super power it doesnt mean all the worlds hate and blame should be thrown at it, if u want to hate and blame people for the worlds problems why not blame your own goverments, world leaders, church leaders or hey heres an idea why not look at yourself.

General election you can vote only once. Now you imagine all the people and how many times they vote for their favourite Idol.. I'm sure friends/family/crackpots will all phone around 30 times each? I certainly would if a friend of mine was in it.

No carry on.. I can't wait to hear an intellectual argument. Less of the 'Nuff said' and more of a structured argument which leads nothing to the imagination. Let's see if you can do that...

Nuff Sed.

10 reasons why the messenger was shot:

1. ingratitude
2. ingratitude
3. ingratitude
4. inability to mind own business
5. ingratitude

And I guess the last 5 don't matter much after you dwell on the first, second, third, and fifth for a minute.

So your point is that more people vote for American Idol than they do for an American Idiot? And this is why America sucks?

This shallow argument is hypocritical in my opinion, when your best point is based on a TV show. Me thinks your trollin.

I'm American and Love my country, but right now it does suck a bit because of what's going on here. Here's my quick list:

1. George W. Bush is the President.
2. Dick Chaney is the Vice President.
3. There are Too many polititions in the Government!

4. A fishing net has less holes then the US boardar.
5. Instead of chasing real terrorist, the Pentagon is in Iraq pissing off our allies.
6. The Republicans have gone from idealist and leaders to Jackasses and liars.
7. The Deocrates could try to fix things, but their too busy pointing fingers.
8. Morals and ethics left DC with Ronald Regan in 1988. and hasn't been back since.
9. The rich are getting richer, and the rest of us are getting screwed royally!
10. We send billions in disater relif and aid oversees while our own people in the USA suffer.
11. We have countless intelligence agencies and spend billions on spying, yet the Government doesn't have a clue whats going on till it hits them.
12. The gas prices and the national debt are about the only thing that has gone up in the last 6 years!

Sorry, I know that's 12 not 10. I just couldn't stop myself!

If you really want to get into it. The biggest porn country in the world is Japan. Everything that comes out of that country is usually porn. Now there is corruption everywhere worse in other country's so that is pointless to. Next.

America sucks because people at my school can hand out these LaDouche economic reports. But I suppose that is also what makes America great, but I doubt it.

I focus on the problems in america because I live in america and I want the problems in america fixxed. Perhaps it is selfish, but I just dont give a damn about the problems in france, israel, india, lebanon, china, russia or elsewhere. Those people will have to gripe about their own problems.

Thanx guys. We do get a lot of shat from people but with our influence and mettling in some affairs we don’t need to mettle in we are bound to get it. And I have to agree with most of what Ghost said. I wont mention what I disagree with, lets just keep it a LOVE FEST.

But I would like to to add
13. political correctness.
14. Fed govt has gotten WAY TOO big and states rights are bing handles by the fed where they shouldn’t be.

No 10 is a load. You don’t get excommunicated. Its not mandatory that you tip but in our society it is seen as kind and a show of appreciation. In others it can be seen as a bribe. Cultural difference is all.

No9: We aren’t the greatest country, then why do people try to go from Cuba to Florida in a 55 Chevy BOAT. Or trek through the desert from Mexico just to stand on a corner here and wait for someone to tell em to get in the back of their pickup so they can do manual labor for a few hours for low pay? I’d bet everyone says their country is the greatest, it’s a national pride thing, you wouldn’t go around saying my country sux huge ones.
I do have to agree with our seclusion having an effect on us. But if we need not go anywhere else, why? But I would really like to visit Rome, Istanbul and many other places outside the states.

No8: He’s got us there. GW cant speak very well in public but in my view he’ll tell ya how it is which most politicians wont.

No7: That’s an asinine statement but whatever. It goes along with states rights. Its so the big populated states can not hold great influence over the smaller states.

No6: Hes right again, we don’t relax very well. But that’s the price we pay for being where we are. We all need to learn to take a few hours a week or a day even, to just sit and talk.

Remember, when ya need a friend, need only look west.

AMERICA FRICKKIN ROCKS!!!!!!

(It's my fellow American's that could use a little re-tooling)

It is - however - unclear if this experiment in "democracy" will fail due to the consolidation and maniuplation of the media - if people are chronicly mis-informed how can a system of checks and balances hope to stay intact?

I really don't know if the Founding Fathers could have anticipated this - or necessesarily what steps can be taken to correct this abuse.

Severe Campaign Finance Reform and free and equal media time to all political parties seems like a good place to start.

(Oh and - of course - redundant paper voting reciepts like used in most 1st world countries)
