I've read many boards on PTS, and I see nothing wrong with the debates and discussions here, I just think. The best way to fix things, is 1, make a website, pamphlet, or a poster, and promote ideas to improve American Democracy. 2, Try to have public meetings about it, when and if possible. Reguardless of steps 1 and 2, always do step #3, send a Politican your complaint and idea in a polite, but firm manner, and let them know, you care about voting for them, and your community, and that the public will be watching them, so they better not be "bad"(This includes all parts of the Goverment, that don't deal with the armed forces, that I know of.)
.

Here's some websites to help:
www.whitehouse.gov, www.senate.gov,www.house.gov, & www.firstgov.com.

A good website to check laws:www.findlaw.com

What do you guys believe? Do you think people on PTS should do it?

Most definitely! Anyone who is not used to writing, phoning, visiting whoever they elect should start to do so now. Look what only 200,000 emails to the FCC did re Janet Jackson's breast stunt. Tell these people you vote, here is what the complaint is, and what will s/he do about it. Likewise, send a praise as needed. Bookmark addresses and bug 'em often.

Hey, I'm taking a short break from it actually. I'm waiting till the newbies start, before I bug committees, politicans, and The President again. I don't care who it is. If they make me mad, I'm e-mailing them politely, but firmly. No need to have the SS watching me for 2 weeks again. Note: Never invent the President to your town. It's weird being followed like that. Plus, I'm law-biding, but it was a little cool.

Hey, I like desert.

How did you pick your name?

You really had the SS following you around?

Wow! I used to work as a small town police dispatcher and was told about a girl that was fired for running the Prez (Clinton) to see if he had a criminal history. The SS was there VERY quickly!

Anyway, were you followed just because of you inviting the Prez or for sending emails?

BTW- I have recently started writting and calling my Reps and letting them know how I feel on a variety of issues.

I also recommend watching the voting records of your reps. You can go to the official websites of the house and have email alerts and votes emailed to you of your Reps.

It's good to let them know there are still Americans who care about votes other than American Idol votes!
