Zero Lift that was well done. Nice to see yet another obselete listing. No slight intended, but you only get to see what they don't mind you seeing.

Don't forget that you only get to see what's in the public domain - that is, what civvies can get their hands on.

For example, if you go to Ask and type in chemical agents, on the right top of the page, you may be the link to the chemical formulae for Hydrogen Cyanide (Blood).

Oh absolutely fritz; civvies get only to see selected info, just as squaddies only get to see selected info, just as the scientists only get to see selected info, just as politicians get only to see selected info, etc.

In the CBW field, this is often because there is little obsolescence in this type of research. What was true 50 years ago is still true, thats why info on the UK's past BW history has only recently entered the public domain, in dribs and drabs, over the past 9 years.

But every now and then sensitive (ie politically embarrassing) material does get to see the light of day.

The above list contains quite a few of those.

I've never heard of a case of ebola outside of Africa. However............makes you wonder, with air travel being so easy these days....

motherboard.vice.com...

i understand that in some cases there is a 90% mortality rate.

To even consider weaponising this illness is beyond criminal. To actually have achieved this diabolical deed deserves serious consequences.

Hope to hear good news for the man in Canada soon.

Air travel is the big game changer. Ebola and similar diseases are self-limiting. Because of their relatively short incubation periods and high morbidity they stay localized. Unfortunately, it's exactly these traits that make it a good bioweapon choice. You don't want your agent to cause widespread disease and infect your own troops or other friendlies.

And now it has spread to three African countries and in one case travelled over 500 miles in just a few days. Instead of being a rural disease it is now in a city. Airborne or with a 'traveller'?

Several weeks ago I was reading and trying to keep up with the Ebola outbreak in Africa. I was reading a story on Drudge, Breitbart, WND, or some such site. The story stated something the effect that, one of the universities maybe The University of Virginia (?) was studying Ebola under a grant from the Department of Defense. I may not remember everything about the story BUT, I couldn't forget the grant from The DOD......Big surprise huh (sic)

Yes, I feel the same way. Initially, I wasn't too worried about this but when I saw the top general in the u.s say on national TV he was worried it would become airborne, I immediately thought of the weaponization of Ebola into aerosol form. All of the doctors say it is impossible for it to mutate into an airborne form, but what none of them will talk about is the fact it has been Put into airborne form via an aerosol and weaponization.

Ebola could - and probably has been - weaponised, but it's not a great weapon because it can't be controlled.
Bio-warfare is all about controlling your agents so they only kill your enemies.
If you created an epidemic in major population centres large enough to do severe damage to your enemies, it would be nearly impossible to contain (i.e. look at Africa right now) and so there is a MAJOR risk of it spreading to you or your allies.
This is why Anthrax has always been the go-to Bio-Agent: it isn't contagious, so you can be sure that only your enemies will be killed and it won't go 'wildfire' and boomerang on your troops.
...So, yes, Ebola is probably sitting in some bioweapons labs, but it would be FAR from the first weapon they'd use. They'd probably only use it in a 'Everyone loses' context.

(Also +1 on 'A Higher Form of Killing')
