I saw a poll on CNN where 60+% people that illegals are hurting the economy. I have hard time reconciling these numbers. Maybe the CNN audinece is more educated than an average American.

I personally think that amnesty on that scale and under these circumstances is crazy.

When I see those news polls I put absolutely no stock in them at all, simply because they are not done Scientifically. I am also willing to bet many hear about those polls and rush to the site just to register a vote that would support the illegals, that is the way they work. Just look at the estimates for yesterdays protests those protesting stated their numbers were much higher then those of official police reports.

I also recall seeing a poll but cannot recall just where that alleged 80 percent were not in favor of amnesty. Go figure probably another skewed report in my mind but I could be wrong.

YES!!

think of all the revenues from potential fines for business... this is just starting to be addressed and it is about time too.

Sometimes government fools you when it works and you don't expect it.

I posted this is another thread last night.

Republicans set sights on aliens' employers

House Republicans called on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to prosecute businesses shut down yesterday by their illegal alien employees who took the day off to participate in protests of immigration legislation.

"Too often, we presume that fault lies with the illegal migrant worker, but we need to recognize that the employer broke the law by hiring the illegal alien," wrote Republican Reps. Jack Kingston of Georgia and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee. "We believe the federal government has an obligation to enforce the nation's immigration laws and must actively investigate any and all instances where it is apparent industries have knowingly and willingly hired those who entered this country illegally."

That kind of shows us that more and more senators and members of congress are also getting fed up with this whole issue and now they want to do something about it. One can only take this as a small step, but it is a step in the right direction.
