In yet another sign that gas prices are hurting Americans in the pocketbook, people are using ever more desperate means to fill their tanks. That includes selling some of their personal items to help pay at the pump.
It's a trend increasingly seen around the country and right here in the Arklatex, with people pawning everything from c-d's to tools to jewelry and often with the very same comment: "I've run out of money this week. I've got a paycheck coming in on Friday. It's Thursday but I have to put some gas in the car to get me to my job to get my check," narrated Craig Toys.
