*Warm up 20 mins before you go...lots of streches

*warm down when you finish (more streches)

*a long warm bath as soon as you get home to relax all the aches

* and some Arnaka jel for your brusies

and now and again have massage

oh and drink plenty of water

Sorry, it's the only thing I could think off.

I took judo for about 2 months - finally got tired of every guy in the place wanting me as his training partner - something about me swinging my rump into their crotch to throw them just had them grinning like chesire cats....

nope but i spa/train with my friend sometimes he has done tang su doo(sp) a form of karate for about 10 years...

so i sort of have personal one on one tutition.. we also have and continue when we have the time to develop our own style from.. books experience and films...

we have also practically used and developed our own weapon to weapon deffensive and offensive proceedures.. involving sticks, bats nunchucks.. and other weapons...

now dont get me wrong. i aint no hard nut... but i aint a push over either...

i cannot take on 4 guys at once... i wish i could, but 1 vs 1 id have more chance than most people on disabling the other person.. providing they are similier weight and hight or smaller.. so anyone bellow about 6ft ish should'nt be much of a struggle unless they are trained..

Negative, but I AM trying to get myself into Meditation. I think it would be nice to be able to just go sit outside by the plants and stuff and just relax and let my mind go free. Nice nice nice!

Ice your bruises. Get a few of those reusable icepacks with the blue goo inside and keep them in your freezer at all times.
Do you own a heating pad?
Get one, preferrably one that plugs into the wall. Put that on your neck and back, and anything else that stiffens up.
Take some ibuprofen. Not asprin, not Tylenol -- ibuprofen. It's an effective painkiller and is also an anti-inflamatory.
Topical gels/creams/etc work well for smaller sore spots, but when it's your whole body -- go sit in a hot bath for awhile.
Keep moving. It'll keep you from stiffening up further. Gentle stretches and range-of-motions work perfectly.

Most important -- try to ignore the pain.
Sounds silly, I know.
But distract yourself from the hurting, don't think about it. It works better than you might think, and you can kind of train your mind to do it automatically after awhile.

Believe me, I know all about getting the crap kicked out of you and then having to do it again the next day!!

I dfon't know I really don't like the set forms and rigidity of the Japanese Arts (I did Shotokan for a bit). I started reading on Bruce Lee's method of training called Jeet Kun Do, and I started practising that. I feel freedom is essential in the martial arts, and this style IMO offers the most.
