Hello...I would like to share with you all an ongoing experience that I have been having for years and still can't fully explain. It concerns dreams and astral projection. Here it goes:

When I goto sleep sometimes, instead of actually "falling asleep" or going into a "dream", I tend to leave my body (with the physical sensation of doing just that). However, the next phase of this so called astral projection or out-of-body experience tends to differ immensely every time. Some times I end up flying right through the walls of my house (Yes, I see my house exactly as I would if I were not dreaming and I have even looked in my mirror and seen nothing, as though I were invisible) and sometimes I end up in really strange places. Sometimes they are familiar, like places where I used to live, or sometimes very distant planets, with other forms of life or "aliens". But to not go off on a tangent, I would like to focus on the specific type of astral projection that concerns me most.

Sometimes, when I do leave my body, I am unable to really leave my room. I feel as though something is holding on to me and preventing me from leaving. I don't see anything though, I just feel like I'm being held back from leaving. Pretty strange huh? It is almost like a negative influence exists even on the astral plane, hence the term I used in the subject line "the Dream Police". Well...I know its not just a dream, because during these projections in my room, I can still sense my body and tell for example, if my arm is resting on my stomach or behind my head. And when I do happen to wake up right after sensing this, I find that my arm really is on my stomach or behind my head. Anyhow, I do believe what is happening to me might also be happening to other people so if you have experienced similar things or if you have any questions please post them. It would be very interesting to get other peoples' input on this subject.

You might get more replys posting this here L1ghtSeekeR, linktrim.com...

I can relate to your experiences btw, the majority of my OBEs are in my bedroom and every now and then I manage to get onto my street. With more experience you should be able to travel further, so ive heard.

I would attribute your travelling to different places to the fact that there are different planes. The closest one to physical is essentially being in a higher vibration of the physical world, so in a sense you are actually in your room and things are pretty much the same. But the higher you go, the weirder and more abstract things get. Plus you may just end up in a certain place some time when you need to learn a specific lesson or see something.

As for the "Dream Police" as you call them, restriction in the astral comes in many forms. Some people say that "God" prevents them from projecting and says that it isn't natural. Others say that "Negative Entities" (as I like to call them) prevent it and don't want you to make it out. The fact that you make it out of body and then are trapped in your room is sort of odd though. Most people will either be stuck in their body or completely free, not somewhere in between. Sometimes such beings will scare people into never going into the astral again, etc.

When you are 'held back' in your room, what is it like? The closer you get to the walls, the stronger the pull is back towards the middle of your room? Or is it like a forcefield around the edges of your room? Either way, I suggest taking a deep breath and then jumping out of your room as fast as you can (don't worry about walls, you can go through them most likely
). The only thing holding you back may be fear/inhibitions. If that doesn't work, there are conjurations that might remove whatever is holding you back. I'll tell you about those later if something else doesn't work, though.

Thanx for asking. I suppose the main thing I feel when being "held back", is like someone holding onto me. It makes me unable to do anything on my own. Rather, its like someone is grabbing me forcefully and preventing me from escaping my room. Its hard to really convey the feeling but imagine, if you will, someone holding onto you while you're parachuting. And the only place you can go is where they go. That's kinda what its like. And it makes me feel really tense and my heart beats super fast. Because I'm conscious of both the astral body and my physical body.
