My friend found this on a website, she came across it while doing a search for something or another on a search engine. I don't know what website it's from but it's weird

Think about this... Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846. John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960. The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters. Both were particularly concerned with civil rights. Both wives lost their children while living in the White House. Both Presidents were shot on a Friday. Both were shot in the head. Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln. Both were assassinated by Southerners. Both were succeeded by Southerners. Both successors were named Johnson. Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908. John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy was born in 1939. Both assassins were know by their three names. Both names compromise fifteen letters. Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse. Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater. To cap it all off, Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

I've heard about this *years* ago...And for all of this time, I've thought that, if it's only coincidence, it's a pretty *bizarre* coincidence.

Thanks for that link skamarth.

But what does that guy's statements prove about the coincidences? He just explains how they happened and why. It doesn't disprove or prove anything, the coincidences are still numorous and it's still very odd that there are so many.

It proves that some of the coincidences aren't really coincidences at all, just lies.

Lincoln didn't have a secretary named Kennedy, Booth was born in 1838 not 1839. Also, neither of the assassins actually went by their first names - Booth was usually known as J. Wilkes Booth or John Wilkes. Oswald went by Lee Oswald, not Lee Harvey Oswald. Booth was not caught in a warehouse, but rather in a barn.

Yes skamarth, that's right. But what about everything else? To many coincidences if you ask me. And the barn was used to store things, like a warehouse is used to store things. Close enough. And 1838 is one year off from 1839, to me, close enough, so the NWO screwed up on the year their assasin was born.

I know, NWO? During Lincoln time? Well, I think NWO started in England. They used Jack the Ripper to kill off some people, along with other major killers back then, to make sure any information about them was deleted. But, England was losing power, and U.S.A. was gaining. So they moved here. But Lincoln was president, and they needed to change that. So at first they try to make a new country, the Confederacy, but Union defeated that. So they hire JWB to kill him. And using money and influence, they got the new president to be a puppet for them.

To much of a conspiracy for you?

Coincidences happen all the time - the only abnormality would be if there were no similarities between the two presidents. So the answer is that, at least partly, this happened naturally.

Well either way it's pretty weird how things are so *similar* between the two.

And the confederacy wasn't exactly a new country, it was just that the southern states wanted the overall government to have less power and the states to have more power. Oh and anyone who tells you the war was about slaves is a complete and total idiot. But that's a good idea you have there James, I like it!
And who was the next president after Lincoln anyway? I'm bad at history

Some of the coincidences may have holes however this one does not...

Lincoln was in Monroe, Maryland, while Kennedy was in *cough* Marylin Monroe!!!

*GASP*

Andrew Johnson. He was the vice. And of course Civil War wasn't about slaves. Sure, it was one reason south was trying to break away, but not all of it. The government was trying to pass certain tariffs that would hurt the cotton business a little. Also, the north was doing things that was hurting the plantation way of the south and so forth and so forth.

And the Confederacy wasn't a new country. It was trying to break awa to form their way of governing. It was as if when the U.S. broke away from the British, that we lost instead of winning. We tried to make a new country, and succeded. The south didn't. Also, lincoln was trying to keep the Union together. Sure, freeing slaves while taking the south helped since the plantations no longer had workers and the slaves would then join the army for the Union. But the slaves weren't why the war started.

If any questions needed on the Civil War, post here, or u2u me, I know many things on it. Hell, last three essays I've written for English was on it. That was just this year. A few last year, then in highschool got my scholorship from the Civil War roundtable of Toledo for writing them a ten page report on the Battle of Gettysburg for them. Also been to Gettysburg and surronding area. Very interesting everything they have. Little Round Top, Big Round Top, Semetary Ridge, Devils Den, Picketts Charge, Antitem(sp?), many places. If anyone ever wants to see re-enactment at its best, go to Gettysburg when they celebrate the Battle of Gettysburg.(July1-5)

It just goes to show you, that history does repeat itself.

It may mot have the same name, but it always seems to be the same thing

There is an additional coincidence I can think of here. Kennedy was shot in a Lincoln automobile manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. Lincoln was shot in Ford's Theater

If someone wants to debate the causes of the civil war in the U.S., let me know. In the end it WAS about slavery. "State's Rights" is a code word for "We mustn't allow the government to prevent us from taking our slaves into Kansas!" I have studied enough of this time period to realize the fine points of the South's political doubletalk. I will debate this all day if you like since I am writing a Master's thesis on the subject.
I shall await the flames.
