as cats are porn blind [ well actually with closed eyelids ] - many people suspected photshop was used

yeah, that's definitely a freakish pic., but before you assume it to be a photoshop fake, I think we sould ask one question...

if your genes were so muffed up as to only be born with one eye, would you necessarily be "normal" enough to be born with your eyelids closed too like a healthy kitten?

I find the reasons of the creationist museum a bit off, what is a single random freak suposed to prove? It kind of shows that within one generation a massive change can happen (ie macro evolution).

But anyway, seince when were creationist museums the home of precise factual scrutinized science? Its hard to complain about something when that is the way it just is.

To complain about it would be to complain why the middle east is a hot desert full of religous conflicts.

I don't see what is so odd about that kitten. Granted, it only had one eye (and it was symetrically placed, I might add) but nature has produced far more bizarre mutations than that.

I seem to recall a two-headed sheep...

As a cat owner.. I just have to say.. I think this poor little guy who only lived a day should be layed to rest with respect for what he had to endure for the one day that he lived and not put on display as a "freak".. Innocence shouldnt be displayed as freakish.. ever..

I would have loved it, and given it a good home.
It almost doesn't seem real, though.

personally i think the one the original poster posted is just freaky

I came across a site that says

A photo of a one-eyed kitten named Cy drew more than a little skepticism when it turned up on various Web sites, but medical authorities have a name for the bizarre condition.

“Holoprosencephaly” causes facial deformities, according to the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke, part of the National Institutes of Health. In the worst cases, a single eye is located where the nose should be, according to the institute's Web site.

What a shame for the cat.

To me, it looks like a photoshop-fake. The Reflexion on the eye doesn't adapt to the rest of the body. And like someone said, I don't think such a small kitten would have the eye open ...
