I'm currious if the Moderators or the powers that be on ATS gave any thought that the person posting (jimrat201) may have taken the announcement from another source and posted it on ATS. Since jimrat201 seems to be a new user to ATS this person may not fully understand the guidlines to posting such information from other sources and should quote the source as well as link to it if it is possible. I don't think the poster claimed to be the original poster of the information, and the way the information was posted, it looked like it was coppied from something due to the double headlines and such within the post. Another reason I bring this up is becuase in that post specificaly asked for it to be re-posted and distributed to other forums.

I would like other ATS members opinion on this since the Thread was locked for reasons that are speculative on the poster jimrat201.

I also would like to know if jimrat201 has been monitoring the thread since the posting was made, and if possible could jimrat201 please clarrify where this information originated.... links, sources, other forums etc?

Like Zedd said, the original poster is actually on a dialup connection from the San Francisco area. In case everyone has forgotten their geography, this is a considerable distance from Europe.

I think a lot of the points are very worth discussing in their own threads. But not in this one. Let's start some new ones WITHOUT the false information that starts this one out. It leads to folks reading the first article and then responding hastily.

Yeah, its possible. Why, did he tell you that that was the case? Do you know if he told any of the moderators that that was the case? Have you been able to find a page elsewhere that states the same stuff?? That guy wasn't that new, and he had a history of posting false information without sources, ie, seems to only be interesting in throwing stuff out there and seeing if it stirs anyone up.

Its rare that we are all able to catch someone in a blatant lie. When we do, it should be dealt with.

I found a post on groups.google.com with the same headline, although in a foreign language. If the person has a history of posting false information without sources then why don't you ban the person? I clicked on the posters handle and saw only one post. Byrd just locks the thread even though other moderators have obviously participated in the discussion. I assume you guys look at these things pretty quickly since I know a number of my posts have been immediately moved, deleted minutes or even seconds after posting them.

It was an interesting thread, and in the light of what is currently being reported through MSM the posting seemed almost possible... that's what makes these kinds of threads interesting even if they are pretty far fetched or even outright lies.... ATS is known for good conversation on such current events or on the topics that stir the immagination... squashing the thread seemed as hasty as Byrd says elegantly here:

In this case, a member posted what was either false information or information copied and pasted from an external source without proper attribution.

Posting work written by others. **ALL MEMBERS READ**

Whichever the case, the member violated the T&C by doing this. Accordingly, a member of the senior staff took appropriate action.

Beyond that, the status of a given member's account is generally not discussed except in unusual cases.

That's basically all there is to this, in my opinion.

He's obviously well educated, he's done his homework, and he doesn't seem too far over the edge .... some of the stuff linked here shows references to sources....

Impressive marketing background.

Could he possibly be connected or friends to someone in a European consulate.... if the posting about Rice came from this guy, it only kind of fits... but not really if you know what I mean.

He's in advertising and marketing which makes him a "Professional Disinformation Expert". I wonder if this post was a project or study in how information travels?

A person that DID have connections knew better than post themselves for fear of "national secrets" / job security / life security so they handed the report to their buddy ( a marketing specialist) that could get the word out easiest/quickest...

This guy certainly doesn't smell "spooky" cause he left tracks all over the place..
