Just wondering what everyone thinks of Bush's proposed mass amnesty plan to make sleeper terrorist cells already in the US full citizens?

It's pro-business, so it has to be good right?

I dont like it...
not one bit.

Someone who comes here illegally, should at best, recieve guest status...
at worst- get checked out, then given guest status, or be put in jail...

Guests shouldn't vote, shouldn't get rights to welfare, or free health system. they should still have deductions taken out, as a form of tariff or tax on the right to work here as a guest.
in short: should be mexican citizens that visit america to work, and pay for the privledge...

To obtain citizen rights...
take a basic english course
do public or military service
pledge to be an american, and to be loyal to America
pay taxes and SS

I dont think we need to have the huge financial requirements that we have now... those are the "cant afford it, we dont want ya" type restrictions...
other countries use that method, but frankly, it wont work with poor immigrants trying to make a better way of life for themselves.

Mexicans can be the influx of young hard working people we need in America... as long as we dont turn our nose up at the idea...

as with all things... the middle is the happiest place.

Its unlikely that anyone will ever be able to 'get rid of' the illegals that are in the US. The best thing to do is put some kind of security on the border (both the mexian and canadian, since there have been more terrorists crossing the canadian, that we know of), and then just remove the immigration quotas and let more people in.
