Jerusalem is rightfully the Jews homeland so is all of Israel! They should not have to divide what was originally theirs. The muslims have enough land for themselves. They need to butt out of Israel and leave the Jews alone. What do people have against Judaism anyway? It's the one major religion that's NOT out to convert everyone else. Jews just want to practice their religion in peace without being disturbed. But everyone has to keep picking on them and it's about time everyone just gave them a break.

World Net Daily isn't too credible of a source, and I doubt Olmert will do that.

REALLY????!!!! Is it Israel that attacks them with suicide bombers?! The Palistinians are set on destroying Israel at all costs. There's proof but the media and the rest of the world is biased against Israel

Actually the proof is in the media.
I have just finished up a debate here on ATS that addresses the question of weather or not Hamas would become more moderate. In my arguments, I used the Hamas' charter as well as many of the rhetoric that Abbas and Hamas spokesmen have used telling the world that they will not honor and agreements that have been made with Israel. They have stated that they do not accept Olmert's pre-election pullout plans etc.
Take a look at the information in the debate as it will cover much in the way of the questions that I have seen here in this thread.

This is a volitile topic. Please discuss it in a civil manner. If it gets too heated, we'll have to close it down and it's an important and interesting subject for discussion.

Thanks.

I disagree. The two Muslim Holy Sites, the al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock Mosque are MUST do for any peace between the parties. Israel has handled this situation in an exemplary fashion since 1967, with one short exception around the 1970s. Of course, we often forget the Jewish people were denied access to the Jewish Holy Site, the West Wall or Wailing Wall, part of the Temple Mount, from 1948-1949 to 1967.

My memory is, al Aqsa is the place from which the Prophet Mohammad ascended into Heaven and then came back to earth. The Dome of the Rock is the place where Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac. The West Wall is the last remaining wall believed to be part of Solomon’s Temple. A lot of religion in a very small space.

Acording to this Article the Old City will be on Israels side of a divided Jerusalem and that includes the Al Aqsa Mosque.

They are planning to steal the most important Islamic holy site in Palestine.

This is the trigger for final Jihad.

Its not a split, its a land grab.

I do not doubt that.

Jerusalem is a big city - (far, far bigger than only the old city with the Temple mount ).

Parts of Jerusalem will be part of a new Palestinian state, parts of Jerusalem will be part of Israel.

The only thing I personally doubt is this to be happen today or tomorrow.

In my opinion the best thing would be to put Jerusalem under some kind of international/UN protectorate, to make it a neutral teritory.

It is a holy place to all three abrahamic religions who are not at the best terms with eachother. If we had a country there that is not based on religion, we could give Jerusalem to them. Since that is not the case, we should deny the ownership to everyone in order to allow access for everyone.

It could solve quite a few problems.

About Eastren Jesruslem:

The land ownership is for us the palestians. The city is for the three religions.

Give us our land back first and then muslims , christians and Jewish well be more than welcomed to visit the city or make Pilgrims to it anytime they want.

I agree with you there it sounds a good idea.

Jerusalem is a unique city, so important to so many religions and for it to become 'an International City', neutral, under the protection of say the UN, with free access to all sounds good.

Whether the Israelis or Palestinians would agree is another matter of course.

Says who?

There have always been Jews in Jeruslaem who owned land (And today, Jerusalem is part of the State of Israel)

Therefore, I would he highly interested if you please could deliver some serious sources for your claims
