Thats a VERY cool roof. Where do you guys live? (Generally, not in a give stalkers ammunition sort of way) and your daughter is gorgeous.

Shearder - It is great to put a face with the words, and the singing voice of a great friend.
On a separate note, your little girl is beautiful. I have to assume she looks like her Mother.

Work has just been so hectic last couple of months. So much happening and i am just not touching sides. I am not even getting stuff done around the house like i used to but hopefully that will change

I am around a lot but more in terms of i have ATS open but not 100% actively participating at the moment - just reading and adding comment from time to time

Thanks for that lombozo buddy!! I have some GREAT friends on here too. In fact, I consider some on here, present "company" INCLUDED, as the best! Though oceans apart are ALWAYS supportive. If i was closer i guarantee you we would visit regularly.

I live in South Africa. I have a cape dutch style house. Here is a pic. The other is of the bathroom upstairs - in the main bedroom - you can see more of that roof. It is thatch.

ah it's not so bad

sometimes something stares you right in the face and you don't see it. We went shopping the other day and i was looking for my sunglasses. I couldn't find them so thought bugger it. Climbed in the car and off we went. I looked in the rear view mirror at my daughter in the back and there they were - on my head!! AND i am not blonde LOL

Very nice. Thank you for the pics of the roof. I work in construction, and so details like that catch my eye. Especially since I have never seen a thatched roof up close, or at all from the inside.

Thanks Illusionsaregrander! It is high maintenance at times. DARN birds think it is a huge patch of nesting material or perhaps they just pull it out when they get bored LOL

It is very nice though and smells nice after a rain. There is a thin silver fire sheet between a thin inner layer of grass and the outer, thicker, layer. For insulation and fire retardant reasons.
