I think Really Above Top Secret (RATS) should be cheaper or free. I mean, whats so extra special on there anyway? It seems like its an extra forum that is there to piss people off. This whole site is about exposing the truth! Why not expose RATS? Give me some reasons why RATS is worth 3,500 ATS points...
I'll be waiting...

Sorry prophetmike, but I would have to disagree with you a bit.....3500 points is the cost to a better forum....opinions may and will vary but I think, all-in-all, many will agree.

Its a perk.....3500 is nothing.
The forum speaks for itself and needs no justification nor can I give one that will suit your quest for an adequate answer.

You'll have to pay 3500 to get in and judge yourself...despite what answers you get, the question you ask will remain in your mind or sub-conscious....till the day you do buy your way in and can judge for yourself....but by then, it'll be to late to change your mind anyhow...right?

RATS is priced about right... there are those who argue maybe it should be set higher.

The entire purpose is to prevent the flybynighters from zipping in and posting all kinds of crap, of the type that sometimes shows up in chitchat and other forums.

It is nice to know that you can discuss subjects without the entire public looking over your shoulder.

Nerdling, you are within 50 points of making it... keep it up!

Ok, ok... now that Seekerof has spoken so much sense, I must admit, you're right. I guess the curiosity of finding out whats inside RATS is getting to me. I mean I have less than 400 points currently. It MUST be the curiosity. Curiosity won't kill THIS cat...

EDIT: Just read what dragonrider just posted: The entire purpose is to prevent the flybynighters from zipping in and posting all kinds of crap, of the type that sometimes shows up in chitchat and other forums.

I totally agree with this. It MUST be my curiosity mixed with my lack of points.

Thats the whole point... the pricetag is sort of a filter... only hardcore ATS members who can hang in and accumulate that kind of point count will get in

I'm almost there, i shall have to try and join a project for a points boost!

Or i could just post like crazy

I don't mind it, I haven't had the points to get up there yet, but eventually I will. Turning my text and background green was more important to me than rats; but I think it will be my next purchase.

The only problem I have with it, is it will cause some people to post useless spam to pad their points so they can get in faster. (saw this at another forum I went to, not for a secret forum, but for a custom title).

Hate to say it, but I agree with mike. The site is about exposing the truth, is it not? Why hide a stupid forum? I can see the cosmic forum, but something only post-happy memebers will be able to view? Gag me. Right now I'm just working up points to get rid of my second-line name thingy. I see a "new forum," whether better or not, to be pointless.

However, as a non-mod memeber, there is little I can do. But... I guarantee you that my name will be on that front page as a mod... And then I'll have a say. But... 'till then, I just have to put up with the stupidity of the administration here.

Coz if they want to see the truth...They must pay.

It's Just like "I can tell you, but i'd have to kill you"

Except...you'd kill to find out what's in that forum ;P

I havn't even been there yet, but i really want to go in and find out what the goodies are.

I think the content there will be much better and truelly taken more seriously than the average n00b who's jsut joined and truelly you will get better quality conversations and conspiracy theory's in there...more answers.

Anyways...it'll keep them Government people just checking the site out for a little bit...they have to get thier points ;P

Thanks for agreeing with me, Warrior. But I've pulled back my reins A BIT. I still think something should be done though. But i also agree with DaRAGE. Oh well. I'll be back later. Also check out my OTHER thread about What do you think is the most important invention EVER?

Its good, we mainly have it so more senoir members can have a non-newbie discussion. However I still can't belive that the staff does not get a discount!

I just notice something...

THEY'RE CENSORING N00B!!! GOD HELP US!!! AAAAAAGGGGH!!

OK, that sudden outburst was brought to you by the letters A, T, and S, and the number 3,500.

Back to business. So newbs can't get in. Whoo-hoo. That doesn't make it worth while. I think it's another ploy by William to get us to sell our minds to him, so he can ban us to the realm of FreeMason... *looks around to make sure William doesn't hear this* *gets M-16*

I think its just stupid to do this. Why a forum? Why not, say 100,000 points to become a mod or something? Something worth our while? SOMETHING PRUDENT! We need to get rewards for posting that are better than just a forum.

I leave you with this question: why a forum?

Signing off,
HLW

eh..I can se why you'd want to keep spam-happy noobs out of a serious thread, but you can just as easily disregard their post. It doesn't destroy the validity of the thread. That excuse doesn't float with me. what else does this armvelous RATS come with? I could use a spell-checker..

HLW- I agreed with you in my What do you think are the most important inventions EVER? thread, and now I agree with you AGAIN.

Why just a forum?

and why censor N-O-O-B AND n-e-w-b-i-e? What's so wrong with n-e-w-b-i-e?

We're supposed to be uncovering stuff on ATS, not covering-up!

LOL, I think there will be a perpetual complaint by some members that the forum's cencorship is out of control. In reality, that's what its all about. Keeping the forum from getting out of control. Besides the fact of minors being present on the board, I'm not sure everyone here can keep things civil without a mod's hand here and there. I've seen enough good boards go to #e, thankyou.

You're right, it isn't worth 3,500. It worth about 5,000.

I've just used 3500 to buy some access and it is worth it, even if you just want to see the catfights and petty bitching its worth 3500.

I dont think i have seen the word # used so many times in one forum.
