I own a "money pit". It's a 1992 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.6. Make me an offer!

It’s a very interesting thread and I’ve learned a lot about the money pit itself. However I for one would still like to know the history of those boulders.

The "strange markings" reportedly carved on the oak adjacent to the Pit can be seen to invoke Masons' Marks, inscribed signs by which Masons are identified.

And, entering ML’s domain here…

It has been argued by most Oak Island researchers that the stone is a hoax but it must be considered that the stone was mentioned in early accounts of a variety of expeditions. It is significant however that a cipher message, often with a key is found in the Secret Vault, is a central aspect of Freemasonry's Royal Arch degree.

And involving the boulders

In 1967 evidence of a Masonic stone, a granit boulder, was overturned by a bulldozer and on its underside was the identifiable emblem of the letter 'G' in a rectangle. 'G'

I encourage everyone to check out that site. (However I checked the whole photo gallery nothing with Masonic symbols on them.) Does anyone have any pics of these boulders? Does anyone know any Masons from Nova Scotia?

EDIT: here's a link for those interested in the Royal Arch Cypher.

Widow's son, I'll give you 645,000.00 Zambia Kwachas for the Benz!!! Upon delivery. (don't bother converting to US dollar, see it's REALLY BIG!)

Masons linked to Oak Island "money pit". I know this is not a new topic per se, just trying to get some discussion going as to how the two giant boulders with the tradtiional masonic "G" and compass got to the island, and their significance. I tend to shy away from the theory that the pit is part of some elaborate scheme to hie the holy grail. So i'm wondering why whoever build this contraption on the island did so, and reasons for its existence.

Were these boulders near the pit in the pit or just on the island
?

Does anyone know if the templars or Mason often used Roman numerials?

The remains that were discovered of the orginal coffer dam believed to have been used on smith coves to construct the channels were made of wooden logs with Roman numerials carved into them.

The templars most likely used roman numerals since so-called "arabic" numerals were just starting to be adopted in europe. Roman numerals faded out of everyday use after the adoption of the printing press.

However, since most templars spent their days in the Middle East, they would have been exposed to arabic numerals before the rest of europe - it would not surprise me if they adopted them early on. but that is just speculation.

Ive been looking more into use of Roman numerals. Captain Kidd one of the few pirates to actually bury treasure would have known of and perhaps used Roman numerals.

Oak Island was also within reach of his home base, New York. He claimed to have secreted more booty from his adventures than had been recovered, and there is evidence to suggest that he had prepared at least four treasure maps prior to his death.

One part of one of these reported maps is alittle shocking.

Compare the Palmer-Kidd Treasure Map

Look at the N,S,E,W symbol

Now look at Fred Nolan infamous cross of oak island

Interesting almost the same angle and shape.

The paranormal and conspiracy radio show, "Out There", did a great episode on the Oak Island Money Pit and the templar/masonic connections.
This is the link for the podcasts of the show. You'd drag and drop the link into whatever you are using for podcasts. Its " Episode 4: 13 Templars on a Dead Man's Chest "
