Rhetorical question: What does a person say if they were in the
neighborhood of divine communication? What does a person say
to, or offer God, or would it be him letting us know how he's doin'
first?

I think God would like to hear on what you had to say and how you are doing first. Then I think he'd talk to you about your life and ask you questions. To be honest I don't even know what I'd ask God if I can ask Him a question. I think I'd just be happy being in His Divine Presence.

Try reading "Conversations with God", by Neale Donald Walsch.....very thought provoking.....

Many millions, if not billions, believe the Bible to be the inspired by God, to man, and has many upon many accounts of 'conversations' with God.....
Thus, one can choose to believe that these 'conversations' happened or one can choose to say that they didn't. Who really knows the truth? In the case of Neale D. Walsch, he stands the same chance of having a "Conversation with God" as does those who were spoken to in the Bible....50/50 right?

If what Neale writes is what God is saying.....50/50, right?....wowzers......many, many people are waaaaay off base on many things.

According to Neale, God is always open to 'talk' with us....always communicating to us.....we just don't truly listen. Neale writes that God says: "For you to hear My Truths, you must first stop telling me yours."

As to a question I would ask.....can't say......I would have a million questions to ask...not just one and I wouldn't dare speculate on just one.
One question always leads to two and so forth....

I'm pretty sure i'd say something like.

"When did you hate us enough to let us destroy ourselves?"

I wouldn't say anything as there would be no need. There is nothing I could say that would not already be Known.

I would listen.

That is exactly what I would say to God. Also I somewhat agree with Nerdling, but I know He doesn't hate us. Maybe He's just having fun. After all, if you were God, wouldn't you use your creation(s) as guinea pigs for fun?

I assume you're talking about the Christian/Muslim/Jewish god. If that's the case:

*Raises middle finger* "Bastard."

I would ask:

Why did you do this to me?

What a bitter yet heartfull remark which I think should be extended upon

I would say something really dumb I'm sure, therefore I might bite my tongue and just wait for Him to speak..and then, it would also depend where I saw Him. If He were to appear in my house right now, I probably just say "holy #" Are you who I think you are?? "What did I do"? etc...
