Thankyou to all for participating in this thread. It was an often bumpy ride that degenerated into pointless slanging matches from time to time, never really living up to the expectations I was hoping for, but we endured and were finally able to reach the same conculsion.

Here’s a point to ponder, and it relates to the CT crowd in general, too.

When you take a guess at how something works, it’s not a theory. It’s a hypothesis. It only becomes a theory after it has been well tested and verified, and only becomes a proof, law, etc. after much more testing and verification.

I say it relates to the CT crowd because we should probably be calling them “conspiracy hypotheses” rather than “conspiracy theories.”

Yes many scientific theories, in my opinion, enjoy an undeserved status as facts when there is so much that is not known, that most assuredly would effect the theory once it becomes known. No doubt, this plays a large part in why so few theories are able to stand the test of time. New discoveries continually disprove the "facts" of the past.

I think one of the biggest problems with science is not so much that scientists think they know everything, for even they aren't arrogant enough to make this claim, but they do think that it is only a matter of time before they achieve this. What makes it worse is that they are blinded to this fact and don't realise how much of a detrimental crippling effect it has had, is having and will continue to have on their quest for complete knowledge.
