I am trying to quit too, and reading this has made me want to smoke.
It is all mental, nothing more to it. Smoking is not fun nor does it provide
pleasure, what it does do is give our brain a signal thats the same as
when you do something productive and you get that sense of accomplishment.
I was able to quit about 2 years ago for 8 months. I had more energy then and I worked out almost every day. Then I got a job where everyone smoked. From then on I have been doing the pack a day routine. Lets get all the smokers together on the forum and pick a day to quit. I have to, ! it cost 150.00 a month
for christ sake!

I am up for it if anyone wants to have a go at stopping. Misery shared is probably misery halved!
I hate everything about smoking and smoke 'air' according to other smokers. I simply cant get past the 'stopping' phase.
Its worth a try if anyone is interested...moral support and all...

I smoked for thirty years and quit after 3 sessions with a hypnotist.
during the withdrawal phase I used gum, the patch and went fishing in a very isolated place for 10 days. That was 5 years ago and sometimes I still want a smoke but now I have will power.

Looking a bit quiet imbalanced.
Maybe we are the last of the last and everyone else has already bitten the bullet.
I look forward to the day the chains are broken....
(if only I could fast forward to 'day 50 of a non smokers life').

I stopped for a pathetic 17 days..the longest 17 days!

I'd try accupuncture myself but I am petrified of needles!

It has almost been a couple of weeks. Do we have an update of how you are doing yet?

Remember...you need strength to believe in yourself.
