Hi8 to video

Okie then. Very soon I will be purchasing a sony handicam. It is hi8 format, so it cant go directly to my computer. I need to get some suggestions for getting it onto my computer, and maybe some good video editing software.

You will need an analog capture card to get it on the computer. I have one, I just need to get the right cable. Myself I need an S-Video to RCA. It'll depend on the camera probably.

Pinnacle Studios has some AV Capture offerings.
I don't have their url at the moment, but it should'nt be hard for you to get.

my sony hi8 has a firewire port !

you have too many options to choose from for me to speculate much further

I'd go with a surplus software site [ cheap ]

maybe even talk to a local video store to see what they may use or reco

next would be to call or visit some custom shop oer wedding photographer they HAVE to be up on the DVD or they won't make money...
