The Scientific Study of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) forms the subject of a collection recently acquired by the Texas A&M University Libraries.
The Roy Craig Collection, which is housed in the Cushing Library and Archives, contains field notes, interviews, documents, drafts, manuscripts and
artifacts collected during the course of an exhaustive study by the chief field investigator in the 1960s. The project team under Dr. Roy Craig
searched for sound evidence to prove or disprove the idea of UFOs, but almost always found only eyewitness accounts, with few cases supported by any
physical evidence. Craig later wrote his own book about the project, UFOs: An Insiders View, providing his perspective on the study and the report.
The collection is available for use in the Cushing Library and is part of an extensive science fiction research collection, filled with fictional
depictions of aliens, space travel, and UFOs.
