Whatever happened about

Using water as a munition propelant ?
I remember reading about it a while ago then nothing.
I guess everyone here knows the theory on how this would work ?

Well just in case
round loaded into chamber with small amount of water behind it then a large amount of power is fed into water causing it to instantly vapourise providing a propelant.
