I personally feel that if NC was a mod as ATS was growing, then yes, he WAS a founder.

ATS is growing now....are all the MODS founders?

ATS is always growing.

I'm like member #7143 so where does that put me? Founder?

Hardly.

I think it's time to switch the drama alert link from the purim hoax to this thread.

ry, I gotta agree with the masses here, you went for sensationalism in the original post and, at least to me, the accusatory tone was indicitive of your constant flip flopping in this topic. While I do commend the research, I must tell you, there are times where you appear to be giving heartfelt responses and there are times where the term oily salesman is a bit more apt. I don't mean to sound insulting, I just think that the tone of some of your posts leads some of us to believe that you are trying to ensare the folks here in any kind of wrongdoing.

Yes, Sporty I think all the mods are founders of whats to come. However its sorta like saying Lincon is a founder at the time he was in power, it just doesn't fit at the time. Bush is a bad example, I'm not compairing our current mods to him.

Rdube retracted.

His conclusion jumping was a mistake, but at least admitted.

When I first complained to Victor, this was his response to me:

That's how I write all of my streams AND it works in the reverse: When
you have something NEW from ATS, I promote it with the same
sensationalism,... that's just my style –

Victor doesn't seem concerned with allegations of libel.

Of what's to come? huh?

Why did'nt you say that in your original post? Instead of:

They were talking about wether or not netchicken was a founder of ATS...not of what's to come.

Isn't it ironic that the last words I saw typed by the banned member were a couple of postings in my Questionable Sources thread yesterday.

I'm saddened by this revelation, really...not the banning, mind you...but the damage and problems which were perpetrated over the years, culminating in the 'high drama' event of today.

Questionable sources indeed.

Indeed it is with a very simple answer. U2U me with your email address and I'll tell you. I'm not about to make their names public when I promised I wouldn't. They haven't done anything wrong, neither have I.

Ever thought you are an innocent front and that you've been led to a conclusion ?

If you actually read the report and do each step yourself - YOU'LL be led to the same conclusion. I don't allow people to lead me.

-rdube02

I'm sorry I'm not giving you my e-mail address (the first time i've ever said that to a fellow ATS member) because I don't trust you.

OK, if you won't answer that one perhaps you'll answer this one.

Why would two members who've done such a great job of investigation not want to take some credit ?

Are they shy ?

Sporty, "of whats to come" = "the future". NetC is/was a founder for better or worse he still made an impact. Any mod that has had to make a hard decision and do the "right thing" is a good founder worthy of respect. Yes, Zed, I will consider you a founder when/if you leave.

Mods are the driver, the members are the passengers and ATS is the buss (with AD's on the side).

a leg of newt, a dash of paprika, wing of bat, eye of a goat and a little love.

mix at slow speed for 3 minutes and pour over a pan greased with motor oil.

let it rot in the sun for an hour and voila

mod.

I take offense to that remark Crackeur, this babe had no eye of goat or wing of bat in her ingredients mix.

sugar and spice and all this nice
that's all this mod is made of.

but i'm sure there are a few of my male counterparts who had some puppy dog tails and snails in their boxes.

Wicked shy. Actually, it's because there are other items being researched, and I agreed I would be the one to take the hits on this one. We aren't finished - there were also two fake journal entries released attempting to portray Serpo as a viral marketing scheme. These are hoaxes as well, and hopefully the creator of those will be exposed to the light of day too. The funny thing about trying to reveal solid evidence exposing the creator of Serpo, is that you end up disproving all of the hoaxed attempts people have made to disprove Serpo along the way. Kind of ironic.

In this case, I don't mind being a punching bag and being called an oily salesman - I volunteered to make what we discovered public because I felt it needed to be made public. And I still do.

On the other items, I've now learned the hard way - but when & if anyone at ATS is implicated, I plan to pass it by S.O. to get his opinion first. We should have done it in this case, but it's water under the bridge now and I can't change that.

Take care everyone.

Till next time,
-Ry

Maybe it's the semantics for me. We have THE Founder (Simon) and another Founder (SkepticOverlord) who transformed it completely to what it is today. Then there are Owners, Admin, SuperMods, Mods, and Members.

Some are "founding members" but not Founders. A founding member is someone that was here in the early days. Before my time for sure.

There are people like myself that might help shape ATS with our input, etc...but it still doesn't make me a Founder or a "founding member" in my eyes.

There are many I consider "founding members" who are great members and some are or were Staff members.

I've just sat here for hours watching one of my best online friends being dragged through the mud and banned so he couldn't defend himself. Really what has that gained ?

You say you felt it needed to be made public and you still do

What the hell has it achieved ?

And, perish the thought, what were you trying to achieve ?

Take care everyone.

Oh no you don't! I know you're reading this. I want a public apology afterall his humiliation was public. I'm sure somebody can knock one up.

Well now we get to the truth. I'm sorry for your friend. But he made the choice to create these emails. Could you ask him what was gained by creating those? What were HIS intentions?

Hmm...

All the information that was given, people could easily get. Great way to link a former member of staff with the e-mail, in an attempt to create drama and keep people talking about a subject that...in reality, has no basis on facts.

Good work Serpo, keep it up. :-)

---

Netchicken wasn't a founder of ATS but to be fair, he was an important member. It is a shame to see him go.

---

Simon was the founder and I do believe it is now an LLB, with Simon, Eric and whatever Skeptic is called in real life.

The mods, super mods, et al are a forum Police to dumb it down with those three as the Government. In fact, a very healthy dictatorship.

John, I have to disagree here. If he had ANY intent on defending himself...why didn't he come clean when it first happened weeks ago? Why use the spoof address of admin@abovetopsecret?

I don't think there is a defense here and the only mud...is the mud he made himself.

And on this I disagree. I have yet to see his public apology posted on his own site or better yet...emailed directly to the ATS owners. I'm sure he could knock one up quite easily.

Someone does something wrong, get's caught and you want everyone else to apologize to HIM for it? You're smarter than that mate.

Surely though, it won't hit the target audiance if he did make an apology? On the first level, he has been banned and had his name dragged through the mud, on the basis that his IP matched. Now, the IP of someone can be aquired fairly easily, the fact he was willing to give out his e-mail can be linked to that.

Secondly, the fact it was from a .nz - New Zealand account, stinks. He's not that stupid. However, if he was to say "Sorry, it was me" those who visit his website probably do not care and through e-mail? I seriously doubt we'd see it so the whole process is a joke.
