Wicca and Satanism aren't the same.

Wicca is a nature religion started by Gerard Gardner during the 50's. He took Alexandrian witchcraft and such and formed his own stream build on his own opinions. You follow laws like "cause no harm, not even yourself", respect everything and follow the god/goddess.

Satanism depends on which stream you follow. The Anton LeVay way is the recent one. And Satan, nor Demons, show up in it. Satanism in LeVay's teachings is just a rational summing up of the way everyone lives daily. Levayan Satanists don't believe in Satan, Demons, Gods and think they are Gods themselves. Not an evil bunch, more like atheists with an ego.

So why associate Wicca with Satanism when they are two completely different things? Why associate both with hexes, curses and "black"magic when both don't use any of them? It shows me you're misinformed and that you still have a lot to learn. I hope you're not one of those kids that likes to do these things just to be "cool".

Most "gifts" which are considered paranormal/magical/esoterical can be learned. However you're born with them anyway so all you learn is how to use them.

Use Google and avoid christian sites with biased ignorant information.

www.gerardgardner.com
buy a few of his books and you'll learn more about wicca, not witchcraft though. in my eyes 2 completely different things.

The book of Anton Levay called "Satans Bible" gives more insight into what satanism is. I'm sure you can find e-books for free online.

Paranormal searches will find you info about Telepathy, Telekinesis etc etc

Well, for the record, I'm Wiccan and have been for around 35 years.

Wicca is not about mind powers, though we do meditation and chanting and spells. It's about relating to the universe. You don't have to have/practice ESP to be a Wiccan/Pagan.

There are many different forms of Wicca and Paganism. For an overview, check: www.religioustolerance.org...

Satanism is covered here: www.religioustolerance.org...

ESP studies are not related to any one religion.

I dont know, i can't claim to know how these things really work.

Im also interessted in Wicca/Satanism etc.. but maybe more in the so called Magick (Alister Crowley spelling).

But more rescently ive been reading about natural coincidenses.
Like you wonder about something and then a few days or a week or so you just kind of stumble on the answer.. im not sure how it works but i think you kind of send the universe your question and you get it answered.

Ok that might sound a little crazy but i believe it works somehow

Not silly at all, because that is how it works in a nutshell.

I suggest you to read The Middle Pillar by Israel Regardie. It cleanly explains how and what magic is and works. It'll take away pre-sumptions that most people have and it'll also introduce you to starting rituals.

www.tomdekok.com is also a decent site to look at, well when it is up and running again
Law of Attraction is basically what you talk about when saying "I ask and it is given". Delve into that for a bit because it is usefull to do so.

Enyalius,
I was going to reply to the original poster until I read your reply, almost word-for-word what I was going to say.....

I used to be interested in magick too, but I suppose luckily I got out of it before I really started to do much.

I don't understand why you would want to be a Satanist, at least the 'real Satan-loving' kind. Yes in Anton LaVey's modern Satanism, there is no Satan. The whole reason it is called Satanism is to anger and show how ignorant other people can be, being influenced just by the name of the 'religion' and not really looking into it. It's got some good ideas.... but for some reason it still seems slanted towards Satan. Isn't there some sort of ritual to sell your soul or something in it? I forget exactly what happened, but my friend told me a horror story about when she tried to do a ritual from the Unholy Bible (I think it's called?), and all sorts of weird stuff started happening. To this day, she claims to hear voices. Not nice stuff to mess around with.

I don't know why you would want to worship Satan. If you believe Satan exists, then you must believe that God exists. Therefore you must believe that if you worship Satan, you are going to go to Hell. Unless Satanists believe Hell is some kind of heaven, I don't know.

If I can offer some advice, whatever you do, don't channel. In any form.

Using such forces for "cool powers" or to do curses or bad things to people is a very unwise thing to do also. As far as I know, wiccans believe very strongly in karma. There are many other nicer/safer ways of getting these powers, without the bad effects of Satanism.

If you still feel so inclined, check out www.spellsandmagic.com... . But I implore you..... heed the warnings on the site.

When you get a popup saying something like

~WARNING!~ This information is for educational purposes only! I do not suggest that you attempt to do any of the following conjuration's unless you are a well experienced Magician/Sorcerer. For the inexperienced it can lead to Demonic possession and or many other bad things!

It's not a joke. You would be wise to take the warning.

You would be much better off to explore Esoterism and Gnosticism in my opinion, though.

The "advice" posted above is one that I urge you to ignore. It's badly informed and prejudice. Derived only upon the name the followers choose to use.

There is no selling of souls in the LeVayan stream or any blood work. All so called horror stories are just that...stories. People who have been practicing magic for several years, 5-30 and longer, got a better understanding of it then some pubelescent that did it to be cool and burned himself. What do you learn from this? Start with it properly for the right reasons instead of rushing in and thinking you can do the advanced stuff right away.

Channel, evoke, invoke, banish...whatever you want. BUT don't do it from the start. You need years of practice before you are even prepared properly and have a strong will. Many rush in to invoke Goetia spirits but don't take the time to learn how to banish them when done or get the preperations done properly.

I love this post elsewhere where a beginner asks invocation information

I love it when someone comes along and asks this kind of question. Its a little like walking into a college after completing grade scool and saying, "I just want to know how to be an aerospace engineer - mostly just how to build rocket engines - can you just give me the how to of it and then I will be on my way."

Lets see, summoning spirits is pretty easy. just meditate on the one you want to summon - practice some divination to see if it is a good idea to do it for the reason you have at this time in your life and in the spirit's time frame and mindset. Then you have to write the ritual being sure to balance the forces that are being called upon and use the proper protection for yourself and the area that will be used. Gather the proper ingredients that are to be used, cleanse, and consecrate them for this working and put it all together while you do one last divination to see if you are ready and if you have all the bases covered. Now you have to know how to meditate to put yourself in the proper mindset to cleanse the area, construct the temple, and the proper way to use the tools that you have gathered, cleansed and consecrated to build the protection cell for yourself and the spirit being summoned. Now you work the magick and successfully summon the spirit and things start to get out of hand - OOPS! you didn't learn how to banish that spirit you were in such a hurry to summon and now he is upset and the two of you are locked in protective spheres that neither of you can breach unless you open them - and then he can get to you and anyone else in the area.

Maybe you ought to take the time to learn the basics and work up to the things that those who have worked to learn for the better part of their lives.
There are no shortcuts in magick.

The Lucerferian stream is more extreme, they do believe in Lucifer as their leader. Satan still never enters the picture. There is no selling of souls either in this stream. They do more magick to harm, but only in retaliation. There where a christian shows the other cheek they will kick you of their property. Still of you show them respect like you would any other individual there is nothing wrong.

The only followers that go to extremes of selling souls and blood magic and the likes usually are young people who are in their teens or close to it. They want to be "different" and rebel against anything. What better way to do that then do everything that is considered morally and ethically not accepted. These followers should be ignored since they are not how true fully dedicated followers behave. A few rotten appels that cause a prejudice imagery towards society.

While I am sure there are many people who are not born being adept in these things there are those who through the perception of destiny that
do not necessarily go looking for these things, but more or less are emmersed within the world of the uncommon and unknown.

As far as seeking knowledge and finding it,well if you don't study how will you know. Many of the names and titles are not really set in stone descriptions of different practitioners only.Satanism to some is merely the worship of an angel fallen from heaven due to a different opinion than that of god.At least I think so.

No you don't have to be born into the world line destiny of power and spells, but you can create it.The more you deal with reality as a ground to expand your knowledge and the depth of your understanding\,in which ever field you want you should be able to get somewhere with it.

While there are many casts of dark majic use and sacrifices. This is largly unpracticed, aswell i highly dont suggest getting into this type of circle of demons and death and curses. Then again I did.

Look at me now hehehe.

Well in my belief, everyone is born with esp. Some people can use it without being taught, a lot of people have had experiences on and off with esp, and you can be taught to use it more efficiently.

To me magic is basically a lot like prayer. When I perform a spell I am basically just doing a ritual to ask God/Goddess for something and hoping that God/Goddess helps me obtain the desired thing that I want or need, I am also paying homage and thanking them at the same time.

Channeling is not evil. How do you think God spoke to all the prophets? He channeled through them. If the prophets would have never channeled than they would have never heard Gods word. Yes some people do channel negative spirits but there are many good spirits such as Guardian Angels and Spirit Guides that people channel as well.

There are many books out there regarding psychic ability and ESP and also many books about magic. I would start at your local library, bookstore, or Amazon.com. I do understand though that reading a book is nothing like talking to someone who is actually in it.

Like I said in my previous post, I think everyone was born with these abilities and just needs to learn how to use them. A lot of books I have read say that meditation is the best way to fine tune those abilities.

Hi,

I saw the introduction to this topic under "new posts" and clicked on it because I wanted to clarify something. However, I see that with the exception of a couple, mainly one previous poster, you guys have pretty much explained it better than I could.

I don't practice any organized religion, however, I just wanted to make the point that Wiccan is a Pagean religion. In my understanding, any religion practiced in th Western World before Christianity was born is considered to be Pagean. It seems as if many Christian denominations have taught that Paganism is "bad", and has not taught what the different Pagean religions have really taught.

The reason why the title of the first post bothered me was that it insinuated that Wiccan and Satanism should even be comparable in any way. It is my understanding that "Satan" was born along with Christianity, therefore, if I am correct, there is no way that any Wiccan or other Pagean could possibly have worshipped an entity that did not even exist when their religion began.

I have studied on and off a bit about Wiccan, and whether or not I am right or wrong about the fact that the idea of Satan did not exist when their religion began, I do know that the Wiccans do not acknowledge the existence of Satan, regardless. They celebrate nature, the changing of the seasons, they regard death as a new beginning, however they do not in any way try to induce death, such as making "sacrifices" or any sort of thing like that at all. When it happens, it happens, and is accepted and celebrated as a passing from one stage of existence to a brand new one - something like that. Nothing evil about it.

My 2 cents......

Just be careful who you listen to, mostly the younger crowd (but sometimes the older ones) will twist the truth slightly to make themselves look better than they really are. Their "powers" may not be all that they say, research, read, be careful!

I can't stress this enough..... please believe the warnings all these nice people are giving you. Take care.
