remote runway in utah

About 45 min. to an hour west out of Salt lake city, north off of I-80. the town just south of that is like grainville area( just north of dugway). nothing really there ,just as it seems. there are ranges out there. hill afb area?!??!! if you chose to look that way you understand its part of the "dugway" thing. funny thing is i know some people that lives in those towns just north of dugway and they tell me that they lose calls (cell, landline)and that the TV channels fade alot(dish, pay-cable or free tv doesnt matter), but nothing of smells or "wierd lights"? well when i lived in SLC we would aways smell something burning...wasnt like a bad smell almost sweetish like. same smell in/all over the valley. wierd is all.
