I wouldn't tell everyone, so why would they?

Do you think that we would be told if an asteroid was seen to be approaching?

I don't think its a good idea for the world to know if it is going to happen. Obviously precautionary action should be taken by those in the know, but surely everyone being told would lead to a breakdown of society.

They wouldn't tell us because they are power hungry and anything that might reduce their power would be avoided by them, that is how it appears to me.

Also, many excuses would be made to justify this decision to make it look like it was in our best interests but of course it would be seen through by those that can think for themselves.

Obviously they wouldnt tell everyone. Well atleast untill we coul all see it in the sky!

If they tell us with say 2 years to go that they are 100% certain that we are about to be oblitorated 2 years from now then it does no good at all.
We would have chaos on the streets everyone would just give up.

I would love to know asap but it just aint gonna happen.

I would. We're all going to die anyway, right?

Might as well see what a single world wide riot looks like.

if i did hear there was an asteroid guaranteed to hit earth

i would be a 'doubting-Thomas'
think back a year, when there was a Mars Probe spacefcraft that was launched on a 6 month flight....optimum conditions & control by the engineers & scientists, having flight control & steering mechanisms...

hey, the mission failed to even come close to orbiting Mars...
reason...there was a mixup in calculations as mission control
was plotting distance in Kilometers versus Miles
OOOPS !!!
