The official weblog has been updated. It now shows a few video interviews of the cast and Raimi from the Con.

Topher mentions getting into a suit in his.....I guess the rumours that he is actually playing Venom are true (by that I mean he is playing hiom on set).
I foresee a similar method used for Gollum being used to create Venom. Onset actor, digitally removed, and replaced with a cg model.

Okay so we aren't sure if the SM movies will be a trilogy or a saga, but what we do know is the franchise is by no means dead....

Yeah, there will always be an animated Spider-man out there. There has been since the 60's. I'm looking forward to these direct to DVD animaded Spider-Man movies aswell as the other ones from Marvel.

I'm hoping that these will be sequels to the movie. It will be better if they were, unless they were used to explain events between movies. I'm guessing we'll see a lot of familiar faces redesigned. Can't wait!


ANd I was thinking, if this movie is supposed to be a 'final' movie (even though they will leave the door open), they'll be killing off characters right? May is rumoured to kick it for one. Now, is it just me, or does this along with Raimi's sudden fondness for Venom (who made it his goal to personally destroy Peter's life before killing him) somewhat coincidental.

In regard to the next time you will get a glimpse of the movie, please know that we will have a trailer coming out this fall. Although I am not at liberty to say when exactly it will hit the theaters and internet at this time, I can tell you that I have seen a rough version of it and I am confident that you are going to be blown away. It is an incredible piece that showcases the full scope of the picture, both in terms of the gripping story as well as the groundbreaking visual effect shots. Be patient, it's going to be worth the wait.

My guess is that it will be shown with the new Bond flick (also from Sony).

I hate James Bond.

That is why they are going in a "new" direction with this film.

What kind of direction?

Are they making him gay? Or black? Or homeless?

Will he fail his mission? Not get the girl?

I have no doubt we will see Venom. It would be a crime if he wasn’t revealed to the world.
Fans would be pretty pissed if they still haven’t seen Venom by then.

I know. I'm still kinda riled that they made the con footage illegal.
THAT was the real crime.
From what I may (or may not) have seen on that trailer, the Venom scene was good.

So, in an interview Marvel studios Kevin Feige claims that three AIN'T the magic number, and we will have Spidey for (he says) up to twenty years!

I heard rumours a while back that Bruce Campbell will be playing Quentin Beck aka Mysterio! However another rumour is that he'll play a restaurant maître d' and he'll once again annoy/defeat Spider-man.

If it's the former it seems like it's getting a little too crowded in that flick.
