venom is born

venom should be a huge part of this movie...

i am afraid that the "battle within" (peter vs the symbiote) will be the main theme though...

maybe the third part of the series will be the end of the goblin arc and the start of the venom arc...

the next movie could then be all about venom and the arc could include carnage...

where does carnage come from anyway

but, that would be a cop-out (to not have venom in three at all)...

mind if i start a rumor-mill thread in the movies forum???

i don't want to mix up rumors and official stuff here...

Carnage is born from Venom when Venom is in outer space, being sent there by Peter after he gets the costume off of Eddie Brock.

Also, this will be a cool way to do the movies, and make as much money as possible.
First Arc=Green Goblin/Osbourne Family
Second Arc= Venom/Symbiotes and Parker's Struggle
Third Arc=??????

THAT TRAILER WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
The symbiote looked really realistic (as realistic as a space travelling, symbiotic alien life form could look anyway!)
It seems clear to me that they are using the Symbiote story from the animated series (the church, the ripping off, the bells and Eddie just watching until it takes him!)

I don't like the whole snowboarding style of the Green Goblin though. I was hoping for something more traditional

See, I'm of nearly the opposite hope here. I love Venom - I really love Venom... but I want the battle within to be the main focus of the film. That's why I like Spider-Man so much as a character... there's not always a huge focus on fighting so-and-so, but on Peter being a regular guy with regular hopes and fears and dreams. To cheat us of that would spoil the movie, IMNSHO.

Wireimage.com has some set photos of Sam Raimi, Thomas Haden Church, and Tobey Maguire on location in Brooklyn, New York.

You have to register for a free membership to view the full size imags though.

You also see "Miller's Pawn Shop set" where I'm guessing Parker buy's this ring (for M.J.?)

That's Gwen Stacy.

And you are right. It could be for her.

lol... that "blonde lady" is Gwen Stacey - played by Bryce Dallas Howard (Ron Howard's daughter).

If you're not familiar with her and Peter's story in the comics, I won't spoil it here.

I agree Bripe. As much as I want Venom to be in a movie and have a Spider/alien-symbiote-costume-thing battle, it will be absolutely pointless if we haven't established what Venom is.
The whole battle within IS Venom. Venom is the darkness within Spiderman. He has always been there, when he killed Ben's killer, whenever he loses control, that's Venom.
Consider it, Venom is Spiderman. Eddie Brock is also an eployee of the Bugle. He dons a costume and his decision is to be bad. His situation is the complete opposite of Peter Parker's.

We must have the battle to appreciate both characters.

rumor has it that mysterio will be the fourth villain in this movie...

additionally, supposedly, raimi (the director) is going to confirm that this is the last part of the series...

link one (that talks about this):

www.superherohype.com...

link two (that has some major spoiler stuff, if its real):

filmick.blogspot.com...

(scroll down to "Spider-Man 3 Teaser Trailer")...

Personally, I have little doubt that Spider-Man 3 is going to use me as an emotional ashtray - and I can't wait.

Want to know how many of these shots actually figure into the film overall? This is all real, genuine, big spoiler stuff.

"Read on if you dare..."

Where does Venom come from? Well, the symbiote clings to Peter after a date with MJ - like gum on his shoe to begin with, almost. As he sleeps, covers him - we see this in the trailer. When he wakes up, he's hanging upside down on the side of a building - much like the final shot in the teaser. It's the old werewolf thing - but used to dramatise Peter's internal conflict. Venom adopts an appearance like the red/blue Spidey suit because Peter is wearing it when it covers him - though he's not wearing the mask, so there's a little dramatic license at play. Tut tut - can do better, Mr. Raimi. See me after class.

let the rumors rise!!!

I doubt the rumors of a fourth villain, though having Bruce Campbell in a bigger Spider-Man roll would be cool.
These rumors started a year ago and continue today with Carnage and even Black Cat.

I don’t even think Spider-Man 3 will have three villains. I suspect we won’t be seeing Venom in this film.
We “know” Topher Grace plays Brock but there has been no confirmation on his casting in the film. This is true even for Thomas Haden Church (up until the teaser was released). He couldn’t even say who he was playing last week when he was on Conan.

www.comicscontinuum.com...

"I can't declaratively state what arch-villain I am," Church said. "They did say I can say who the guy is, and the guy's Flint Marko. And anybody who knows the comic book knows that Flint Marko has a doppelganging, arch-villainous kind of doppelganger."

Also on the Spider-man 2 DVD it was revealed that Black Cat was in the script but was cut because Raimi thought that having so many people would water down the story. I find it hard to believe that he would now make a movie that has to establish so many characters.

Thanks for those TSA. I can really see Campbell as Mysterio. Did anyone play SM2? That Mysterio that is initially really evil and epic, then becomes someone Spidey finds robbing (unsuccessfully) a small shop!
Campbell could really make this villain a welcome piece of comic relief in a dark movie.

i have to disagree with you here...

based on what i read (those links above), venom will be in this movie and he will fight

now i am talking about the real brock-venom here...

venom will not have the white spider on him because it looked too much like a cartoon...

so, there are just a mass amount of veins on venom that make a spider-like shape on his chest...

the final battle of this movie is supposed to be venom and sandman vs spidey and green goblin 2 (harry) in a construction site...

Holy crap - nicely said. I'm giving you a WATS vote, and not just becuase you agreed with me, either.

And Umbrax, if Avi Arad was quoted as saying there are four baddies - I think there's gonna be four baddies.

Of course, that could be read in many ways, I suppose.

How credible is iFMagazine.com? I often see quotes and information on there that is not covered anywhere on the net. Arad must have mentioned this somewhere else but I can't find any other source.
iFMagazine.com also reports Sabertooth will be in the Wolverine movie and I can’t find a second source to verify that either.

A good reporter always uses at least two sources right?

True that, but don't you think that Arad would have already sent a C&D to that site for what they wrote if it wasn't true? He's not an even-tempered fellow...

No doubt he would, Bripe. Unless of coarse he isn’t aware of this.
This whole thing makes me want to contact him.
