Hi, everyone

Now this may seem ridiculous, well it did to me anyway, but it raises a few serious questions in my view. Earlier today I read an article on the BBC website. It was about a small distillery in Scotland who planned to make a very strong whiskey. Here's the link -

news.bbc.co.uk...

Not much there you may think, but when I saw it this morning the story was different. There was another paragraph, which has been removed, which said that the American Secret Service admitted in 2003 that they had been watching the distillery as the processes involved were similar to chemical weapon production processes! This statement struck me as so utterly ludicrous that I could not wait to get home tonight to post it - you know, complete with jokey references - "Terrorists armed with whiskey seize control of......etc."

Now, firstly, who at the Beeb decided to delete this paragraph, secondly were they instructed to do this, and thirdly why are the MIB involved?

Did anyone else see this? What do you think?

I remember the original story from 2003, here is from the same BBC site:

news.bbc.co.uk...

They were monitoring it from the distillery's web cams.

Your tax dollars at work.

If it's from Scotland it's Whisky not Whiskey btw.

Whiskies of Mass Destruction.

It's no laughing matter. I have found myself completely incapacitated more than once in the past after ingesting a wee dram or 2(0)

Thanks kegs -

Not my tax dollars - I'm from England
Sorry 'bout "whiskey", but spellngs not my strong point!

How ridiculous though, don't you think? We should have a competition for the best headline regarding this story -

Two men were today arrested on suspicion of belonging to Al Queda. A spokesman said they were armed with two hip flasks of whisky and were behaving suspiciously.................

Yeah I think they're a group with close ties to them. They've apparently been under observation for quite a while..............

What a brilliant ruse by those Secret Service guys!!

'Right gentleman we'll have to test your product on a daily basis; a bottle from each still should just about do!!!'

Whiskey - Irish
Whisky - Scotch, Scottish

Some folk'll do anything for a freebie!

Best Wishes

As if the secret service had nothing better to do than watch whisky being brewed.........if they were only watching. Seems a good excuse as any to spend tax money sitting around and getting tanked.

I want to join the SS now!
