whats the oldest rock band around?

are there any rock bands who came out in the 60's? 50's maybe? what are the names of the bands and whos the oldest one? i wounder if their songs are any good.

im gonna say the rolling stones.

The Crickets, Buddy Hollys old band is still performing. This is the oldest band with original members I can think of.

And as far as their music being any good; All Rock and Roll bands owe them a debt of gratitude for for their pioneering work in the ART of Rock and Roll. Long live ROCK!!!!

I heard the Shadows are still performing. Might be true, might not.

great but when did these bands FIRST start? the 70's? 60's? lets hear some numbers too.

The Shadows released their first single called Saturday Dance in December 1958.

A band that's still going? It's got to be the Beach Boys.

Since this picture was taken another one checked out. These guys will still be playing when they're 90 and riding Larks.

I believe that The Shadows would be considerd the oldest still touring.

About The Beach Boys I don't know. Sure they are together but it's only one of the original members, so it's not like it's the original Beach Boys.

The Kinks have been together since 1963--but the Stones started in 1962.

But, yeah, the Shadows have been around since the late 1950's I think?

Status Quo is from the 60´s and they are still playing. Deep Purple is from the 60´s also, but I´m not sure exactly when they started. I think Rolling Stones started before Status Quo. The Crickets and The Beach Boys are probably older. Those were the days

Motörhead 1975-2006 and still going strong. They are still touring and releasing new songs. Their latest album is called inferno and it is worth a listen to!

Golden Earring is a rock group from the Netherlands, founded in 1961.

The Jordanaires are still going they were Elvis Presleys backing group
so that takes them back to about 1956 I think.
