Ok after much thinking, and much procrastination, I shall finally post my thoughts on a possible conspiracy. Is it possible that the very forum I am
posting this on (ATS) is the greatest conspiracy of all time?
Note: None of this is meant to be taken offensively. This is more of a food for thought sort of topic meant to get the nogin running.
---
Let's start with the power structure here. It is primarily run by three highly mysterious figures at the top (Simon, Skeptic, Springer), each of
their username's beginning with "S". Together they form a nice triangle up top. Then we have the administrators (Thomas Crown, WoS) just below
them. Directly under the administrators are our Super Moderators (Gazrok, Kano, etc.). Even more numerous directly under the Super Moderators are
our moderators (FredT, Amuk, Valhall, etc.). Directly under them would be the ATS council members (I admit I'm not exactly sure who won the
elections). And finally the most numerous, we have about 50,000 members. Thus in conclusion we have a fairly well defined pyramid of power. Anybody
seing any resemblence to the Illuminati symbol here?
Ok now let's look at the topmost triangle of power. The Three Amigos; SimonGray (founder), SkepticOverlord (IT wizard), and Springer (business
guru). Probably just a coincidence, but all three usernames start with "S". Perhaps it's something of signifigance I'm not seing on the other
hand.
I'll be honest, despite the fact that I've been here since early 2004, I still don't know very much about the founder. Simon, the founder, is also
probably the most mysterious. Infact, he's one of the most mysterious members on the board despite founding it. As of now, all I know is that he
seems to like Bill Murray and knows a suspiciously large amount of information on Groom Lake (aka Area 51). Oh yeah, and he's English. Not to be
racist, but it seems the English are always the one's either conquering some nation or pulling the strings behind global events (WWII according to
some conspiracy theories).
Then there's the Skeptic. Most IT guys seem to have their existance acknowledged when something breaks. Yet here on ATS, our IT guy has his own
t-shirts. So ok, we've heard the voice of Skeptic (very good podcasts BTW), but have we actually seen the Skeptic? How much do we really know about
the man behind the ban hammer? And are his Halloween pranks just good natured fun, or a test run for a much larger plot?
Finally we have the business end of the show, Springer. Ok, we know he has a thiing for good motorcycles, but how much else? Also, what does he
really do as the business consultant? We know he's been hard at work putting together stuff for ATSTV, but what else does a business consultant
really do on a forum?
Now let's look at the moderators, super moderators, and council members. There's a lot of them, and I'm too lazy to really go into detail.
However the interesting thing about them is how little we know about what goes on in the moderator's and council forums. Nobody in the public knows
what goes on in there. You try to access their forums, yet you can't get in. So what really happens in those forums? Is it at all odd that the ATS
council is elected by the membership (at least that's what we've been told), yet we don't know what they actually discuss? Wouldn't it look a
little odd if suddenly the American public wasn't allowed to watch Congress at all?
---
Next I think it's time that we look at some odd things around the forum.
Let's start with the Really Above Top Secret (RATS) forum. It's there, and a lot of people on this board don't actually know what goes on in
there. To many, it is like the holy grail of the forum to gain access. Yet (I hope I'm not getting in trouble for saying this), there's actually
not very much inside of it that you won't find elsewhere. Seriously, in my opinion it's not worth the ATS points. Is it possible that the RATS
forum is just an attempt to divert the majority of attention away from the pyramid of power? A bit like the theory that Area 51 is just to distract
the public from a different site, such as Dulce for example. And the final question about RATS; what does the dog represent?
Then take a look at the support of the SETI program. At all suspicious that a forum like ours is supportive of a computer program that use's your
computer's processing power? A program that could essentially be some sort of spyware, reporting your every move to a master computer without your
knowledge perhaps? Is it at all suspicious that the SETI program was once a program funded by the US federal goverment? Perhaps the goverment
(probably the CIA or NSA) still covertly runs the entire show from behind the scenes.
Anybody remember last year's April Fool's prank? Or that War of the World's-esqe prank on Halloween? Just good natured fun? Or mindset
preparation for the real thing? Is it possible that the power pyramid has been secretly adjusting our mindsets and wanted to do a test to check their
progress? Seems possible to me.
Finally, ATSTV. Is it at all out of the ordinary that a forum such as ours is going to have a television show? Really, what kind of television
producer would give a bunch of paranoid tin-foil hat wearing lunatics a TV show? Also, look at all the mystery concerning the show. Does anybody
other than the three amigos truely understand what it's all about? What is ATSTV? Is it perhaps a scheme to make ATSers think they're special or
something? Is it a hoax to scare ATSers into thinking the board will be flooding by new members? Or is it a plot to advance the growth of ATS in an
almost cult-like fashion?
---
My conclusions? I have none. I'll admit, just about everything I posted could very easily be explained with logical reasoning. However when you
think about it, there's a lot of mystery on this site. Am I the only one who thinks it's ironic that a conspiracy related forum such as this one
has all the makings of a mindcontrol conspiracy? But hey, while I'm at it I think I'll give a couple of theories;
1. ATS is secretly a cult that plans on recruiting more members, and expanding it's influence in a religious fashion.
2. ATS is really an NSA run website made to keep track of some of the world's best conspiracy theorists.
3. ATS is an NSA run website made to keep an eye on possible information leaks.
4. ATS is an alien run website made to keep track of what the earthlings know about them.
5. ATS is an plot by a secretive organization (Illuminati, shadow goverment, Freemasons, etc.) to control the freedom of conspiracy based thought in
order to setup a New World Order without resistance.
6. ATS is mysterious simply because the mysteries it investigates rubbed off on the top brass here.
7. I've simply become paranoid.
Anyhow, those are my thoughts on the subject of ATS being a conspiracy right under our noses. Just some food for thought that I thought would make an
interesting discussion.
