Wow!

Well, I stayed up as long as I could waiting to see the clock turnover, but alas, I fell asleep. Having just checked this morning on the results, was pleasantly suprised.

I would like to thank William and all the Admins & Mods at ATS, for providing me with this award, as well as all the members for making their timely posts. It was a close one.

The 200,000th post occured at 6.16 am GMT, not 2.15 am GMT. Unless blueberry's post about Arnie was not the 200,000th post for some reason.

My estimate was 5.11 am GMT October 4, only 65 minutes off the actual time.

If I'm wrong, please let me know why I'm wrong, or why the system clock that records GMT in the top right hand side of the ATS screen is wrong.

But I don't think I'm wrong, at all.

William, please explain and/or repair. I await.

Already saw that thread....attorneys have been contacted to petition the courts to prevent recount.

Fortunately, no recount is required.

Just an admission from the Site Administrator of an error. Which you will also observe, smirkley, and knowing your honesty, you will be brave enough to face the truth!

I will also be happy to admit my error in this case, if I have made one. But I know my time zones, and unlike you, I was awake to see the 200,000th post.

I guarantee this will be ugly if it is not sorted.

Speaking strictly from the point of view of the site in general, if memory serves. The idea this would happen so early in the year was not considered. The question then becomes when exactly we will have our 400,000th post?

My sincere apologies if I have caused any offense in the way I elected to manage this.

In my U2U-less state, there are all sorts of things I have posted up that probably would have been better communicated by U2U, but which I put up for public consumption.

I will fix my U2Us (only 900 to delete) asap, as this has obviously caused inconvenience to some, and ill feeling in matters like this. You may not be aware William that I have been unable to send U2Us for quite a few weeks. One of the fortunate corollaries of that is that I have received far fewer U2Us.

And this is not to further hammer William at all, in any way, but just as a statement of fact... as soon as the 200,000th post got posted, on the thread that started it all, I put up all the nearest times to the actual, to save the effort William and I are now engaged in. I would have done that for the hell of it, whether or not I happened to be the nearest guess.

Now, if I hadn't done that, I would be further behind the eight ball in fixing the error that ensued, and people would be asking 'What the # is Masked on about?" and "Why can't he accept the call and be done with it?"

So the honest answer is:

1. I recognise no-one is infallible

2. I am less fallible than most people I know

3. I respect people who quickly own up to errors and fix them

4. I loathe injustices and miscarriages of justice.

That's just me!

And shame on you UFB, for chipping in with your shameful expression of shame.
