Okay, first of all I've been sitting on this for a while.
I've debated over and over again whether or not to share it....
Could be a trick of lighting, I guess......please tell me what you think.

external image

In the upper portion of the image, just off-center to the right....

If nobody sees what I mean, I will try to figure out how to post images directly to a thread (still a bit of a newbie), and post what I saw....

It looks like a 45 degree profile of a guy's face with a bowtie, right? If that is it, I am afraid it is just lighting hitting rocks at just the right angle. I really want to know what are those little balls all over the picture. They look rather odd.....like a bunch of rock ball bearings.

Man NASA must be cringing at the though of another Face on Mars picture. They werent too keen on the last one. It does really look like a face though it would apear to be very tiny.

Where did you get the picture from? Something like that could easily be photoshopped. If you linked to it a NASA site it would be alot more interesting

Crazy picture.

I think it is just the lighting, and a crazy coincidence. It is an awesome find nonetheless.

Good snooping!

Directly from a NASA Subdomain if you check the properties of the picture, so I think it's legit.

Hmm.. pretty interesting then assuming it not just a play of light and shadow, which it very well could be the human mind loves hone in on stuff like that.

They are Martian blueberries... Honest, that's what they were called when they were found.

Later analysis found them to be hematite (iron oxide) concretions thought to be formed by water. (I have also read that they might of come from a meteor impact or some sort of electrical discharge.)

I see the face to which everybody is referring, but I also see what appears to be the fossilized footprint of a left foot up near the face. Anybody else see that?

Edit: removed quoted picture.

Here's a nice little zoom in on the "face". Pretty convincing trick on the eyes. If it is

Thats excellent!
Even his eyes are bulging due to the low atmospheric pressure.

I had a what the heck? moment today, while going through the recent images
collected by Spirit, just this afternoon.
It was this image:
Top of the hill

I just couldn't figure out what was sitting at the top of that hill.
Some sort of structure.hmm..

Then I looked at some other images, from slightly different angle.
My perception was reset, and I understood what I was looking at.
Still felt like a bit of an idiot for a moment though!

So what are you guys saying with these posts?

Are you saying that mars is a now dead planet but was once inhabited by higher life forms who could have done these structures and berry things

or....

Are you saying that all we are seeing is natural occurances in nature and shadows and our minds are just "tricking" us (again)?

Haha, if that his bulging eyes then his 1000ish friends must have dropped all their eyes on the ground!

My theory is there was once life on Mars and what if there still is ?Think for a second ,what if the martions in whatever form they take are subterrainian as far as I know there has been no deep drilling on Mars so who knows what lies under the surface.

They could be martian smurf homes...but I could be wrong?

I posted this because I thought it was an interesting anomoly.
I have my own personal ideas and hopes as to what it is, but I also realize that pictures can sometimes play tricks with your mind.
That is why I posted it here and asked for others opinions

I can personally see "eye sockets" and "ear canal" and a "mouth".

Again, I'm not saying it is, just that it looks that way, and I know there are a few here who are good at analyzing photos, and I hope they come by to shed some light on this

The "sockets" are just those blueberry things... there's two of them sitting on that rock. The "mouth" is a shadow cast by the rock that appears to be the nose. And I wouldn't talk too much about the "ear canal"... rocks have feelings too.

I don't believe the "sockets" are the blueberries, they should at least reflect some light if they were sitting on top of a common rock, IMHO.
But, then again, I'm not a photography expert

But they do. They are brighter than the rock. Just open it in photoshop or something, lower the brightness and up the contrast. You'll see that they are clearly on top of the rock... Well, either that or he got thicker eyebrows than a Cro Magnon.

Well, the fact that those little balls are on a lot of rocks, if you take the ball off it's just a regular rock with similar curvature to a face. It's like a danish that looks like Elvis.

Could it be a buried statue? Yes, but unlikely.

Could it be a buried organic life form with it's eyes bulging out? Yes, but unlikely. Is there no kind of decomposition on Mars? Hell, I don't know!

Pretty sure it's just a rock with one of those ball thingies on top. I think those ball thingies are more interesting anyways. I wonder what they are?

Peace
