I have some problem in my computer. one is too many pictures I take from my friends and internet are BMP format which are too big to save. So I want to transform them to jpg. format. But these pictures dispersed in many many files so hard to reset them. If I collect these BMP pictures out of files I managed them in, I will have to take so long time to resettle them.
Then I want you tell me one or more softwares which can automatically search all of BMP pictures in anywhere of my PC and transform those to JPG pitures in original file and never move them.
It is better to be free software or you teach me more I can choose.

If your running XP.. Just click on the Start Menu

then... Search


Search for All Files and Folders

then search for *.bmp

This will give you a list of all .bmp files on the system

I would save all of these in a file, and then Maybe just open up paint with each one individually, Go to Save As.. and change the extension to .jpg.


There maybe software to do all this for you but nothing I have ever heard of. These steps will surely do it for you, with abit of patience.

Previous poster showed a simple way to find all your bitmap photos.
