Not sure if this has been posted, but it is interesting. it makes you wonder if, had this happened somwhere else, would the response be the same??It's 14 min long...the first few minuets are news clips..I like the end, where it shows, what I think, was one of the real reason behind the disaster.

If its been posted sorry
I did a search on the forums and found nothing similar so..

heres some more not so joyfull news:

WASHINGTON, Feb. 9 — In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Bush administration officials said they had been caught by surprise when they were told on Tuesday, Aug. 30, that a levee had broken, allowing floodwaters to engulf New Orleans.

Investigators have found evidence that federal officials at the White House and elsewhere learned of the levee break in New Orleans earlier than was first suggested.

But Congressional investigators have now learned that an eyewitness account of the flooding from a federal emergency official reached the Homeland Security Department's headquarters starting at 9:27 p.m. the day before, and the White House itself at midnight. nytimes.com[/new s]

The following link is to a story broken this week by Greg Palast, author of Armed Madhouse (copyright 2006 by Dutton Publishing) and other recent works of investigative reporting:

www.democracynow.org.../08/28/1342209

In an August 28, 2006 interview with independent reporter Amy Goodman, investigative reporter Greg Palast gives the name of a U.S. company paid by the Bush Administration (pre-Katrina) to develop an evacuation plan for New Orleans, except that no one can now find a copy of any such plan.

What I don't understand is the total silence by the mainstream media and government officials on this Palast story since this genuine investigative breakthrough was aired this week on the Democracy Now! cable tv and FM radio show hosted by veteran independent reporter Amy Goodman. This show was part of her observance of the one-year anniversary of the 2005 Hurricane Katrina disaster on the Gulf Coast.

Well what if the lack of response was intentional?
Ask yourself why would our Goverment want to do this?
Ignore all issues of race, that was a byproduct of the event and a nice scapegoat.
But serioiusly ask..."Is there any reason that our emergency planning teams would be hamstrung"?

"Is there anything to be learned of value from forcing this event to unfold in this manner?"

If it is possible to learn something of value, then ask what is on the horizon???
