I had money down that it was going to be a 10 blade behemoth of a razor. If you slipped BAM there goes your left cheeck. It's just like all the jokes about Gillette, they just keep adding more and more blades...and does it really make difference? No. I use two blades, if I slip, it's one, MAYBE two cuts...but this Fusion better come with some stiches and antiseptic.

I dislike shaving because it takes forever to get through my beard. Everytime I shave my beard, it grows in twice as fast, and is much thicker...:/
Anyone got any tips on how to deal with this troublesome beard problem? Does anyone else have this problem?

There's no REAL solution to that one man.
Just shave daily. I'm sure if you let it go for a day it'll be a full blown mayne.
If you don't want 'er, shave 'er.

Hah, yes'r.
The parents are buying terrible shavers now..I find three blades is a good system, when aided by pivoting head, but recently they've only started buying stupid women leg shaving razors for mother..Since we have this electric Remington shaver..How I hate it..

I too am kinda getting worried with this more blades the better type deal. I dont wanna eventually have so many blades I lose a layer skin will shaving. Would be kinda messed up, and youd need a pretty big bandaid for that cut. I still use the Mach 3 and love it. I get a fine shave with it, always smooth and close, usually lasts all day. I think Ill just continue with the Mach 3.

Even as we speak, Gillette's R&D department is diligently working on discovering what number comes after 5. So enhancements are sure to follow.

You want to know about shaving and the best shave? here's a hint. You won't find it at the drug store.

Get a straight razor. Or if that's too intimidating, go with a safety razor. But I'm sure Gillette appreciates everyone buying into their hype.

yeahright is correct... The old school straight razor is the way to go. It even doubles as a weapon if an emergency should arise. I'll ask a question... How many of you have shaved with a pocket knife before?

Hehe... Or... Have any of you used your girlfriends pink feminine razors?

We have like teal ones that the mom uses...It's all they buy now, so I'm lasting out on the last of my disposable Gillette's.
Their weak...And they clog hella fast. However, they leave my legs with that smooth, clean feelings I do so adore.

I use the turbo... and ive never cut myself ever, not sure how either im really rough with it and usually quite clumbsy. Maybe just a thick skin
.

Im not going to bother with the fusion.. its just more blades to replace too, going to keep the turbo.

well I got the Fusion and for $10 it seems like a good deal. But have you guys checked out the cost for each pack of extra blades ???

I've had the Mach3 thing since it was launched and was very happy with it but it was not giving me the shave I expected from a gillette, more of a Schick' s feel. Yeah I tried the Quattro too but that was terrible, was pulling my skin and the razor burn was terrible. But the results were better than the MAch3, the process of shaving however, agony.

The Fusion on the other hand is much better balanced than the mach3 and also it has the reverse blade so that helps a bit too. Plus with two lubricating things, the shaves are faster and much smoother than the mach3. But it does seem rediculous that last time it was 3 and this time its 5 but there is a difference in shaving quality as well. Unfortunately for me this isnt upto the expectations of the ultimate razor where one swipe will do. That is still not the case, but the pressure required shave is lesser. Also how come so many ppl complain about gettting cut on a Mach3 ?I have used it for maybe 5 years now and never had a cut and I use quite a bit of force too, to get rid of that blue thing that is left over.

LostSailor : Yeah I have had the misfortune of having to use one of them pink gillette nonsense once and the experience was bloody to say the least.

it all depends on the shape of your face and how you stroke the shaver. your supposed to shave in the direction the hair grows so as not to tear of a chunk of your face. i also use shick quattro, nice shaver. if they make a shaver with six blades ill throw away my fusion and stick with the shick 4 blader. 6 blades sounds scary!

I hate shaving--waited 16 years to be able to grow enough of a beard so I'd have to shave, and now I'd give just about anything to not have to worry about it. I've worked at home for over a year now, and since I haven't had to really go anywhere most of the time I've gotten into the habit of not shaving but maybe once a week or so.

With a Mach 3, that's not a problem--I go through blades fairly quickly, but a fresh blade can still handle a good six or seven shaves (being ~once a week). A month or two ago I bought a Schick Quattro, the electric kind that just vibrates. Absolute crap; with the vibration on or off, I have to shave over the same spot two or three times (up or down, doesn't matter), and I might get done with one cheek before I have to change the blade. $12 for the razor and $12 for a pack of blades, biggest waste of $24 I've ever spent in my life
.

Anyone ever seen that Saturday Night Live commercial parody where they make fun of the "more blades is better" hype?

I don't rememer much, but one line goes "the 14th blade does nothing, but the 15th blade actually cuts below the skin for that 'perfect' shave" - - - Or something like that.

The only thing I've seen about the "fusion" I like is that blade on the back for trimming and detailing - I dont' know about y'all, but trying to use one of those multi-blade razors to do detailed trimwork is like trying to do brain surgery while wearing overstuffed skiing gloves (with the poles still attached to them)

After I try shaving with the 15 blade razor, I'm going out to buy a pair of the new "random lunging needle-nose tweezers, NOW with vacuum attachment!" for that pesky uni-brow of mine. "I'll poke my eye out!"

Yep, humor at its finest. I just wonder if gillette is packing these new fusion packages with the same spy chip that is in some of their mach 3 packages.
