This time of year is by far my favorite for many reasons, but one of the biggest reasons is the scents and smells that seem to educe my spirit. I love the smell of a fire burning outside or a wood/oil stove, I love the way the leaves emit their last scent of the season, and I love the spices and pumpkin aromas in the air...all of the smells are almost seducing in a way.

So what are some of your most enticing scents? It could be anything from perfume/cologne to a good juicy steak on on the grill..Let me see how imaginative some of you are (and I know you are)

Oh I love smells, it is my favourite sense. A certain scent can completely change your mood. I have loads of favourites,

I love a perfume called Miss USon my g/f, I love the smell of petrol, I love the smell of a fresh book, and I love certain lemon/orange air fresheners.

But I think the best scents, and the ones that have the biggest effect, are unidentifiable scents, ones that only last about 5 seconds but are recognised, though not identified. Sounds confusing, but true

A woman - from the smell of Mabeline to whatever signature scent she's carried off well as the last piece of her ensemble. 'White Linen' does it for me - though I haven't determined if it's the scent itself or the memory attached.

Gardenias are a sensual scent and put me in Polynesia everytime I smell them.

Fresh baked bread.

Babies.

Sex.

(*Thanks for the thread, I just planned my weekend; 4 out of 5 that is*)

Some very abstract scents some of you have presented here LOL! Gasoline???
I absolutely hate pumping gas because #1- I hate the smell #2- I'm scared of emitting static electricity and exploding

When I make it rich one day, the first thing I'm going to do is hire someone to pump gas for me for the rest of my life

Other then that, I love most of the scents you guys/gals mentioned and it is amazing how a smell can bring back a memory-good or bad..

I've never understood the attraction to the smell of gasoline. (I have it too.) it doesn't make a lot of sense.
but yeah, anything that brings up a good memory. whenever I'm going on a trip, I use one specific scent on that trip, so whenever I smell that I'll be reminded of the trip. try it the next time you go somewhere...it's really powerful.

speaking of 'memory scents', I went back to my old high school for 'senior farewell' because one of my friend's sisters was graduating. the auditorium had a very specific smell, the only way I can describe it is musky walnut. so I go back, and the auditorium doesn't smell like that anymore. I asked my friend's sister about it and she said "yeah, that was the seats. they replaced them last year because the old ones were full of asbestos."

LOL... Thas was cute ! Well I would certainly like to follow you and fill your car whenever it's needed, but you'd have to pay me really really big.

That is the wierdest topic I've ever read, but I'm definitely posting!

I like the smell of being deep into a forest, dirt under your feet, a nearby river, and being completely lost. The whole smell of it all, the forest, and you sweating your feet off because you think that you'll run into something that will eat you or you'll run into a Bigfoot, that's the best smell, I've only smelt it once, but I'll never forget it.

I also like the smell of a certain female human that I know, she's the only Human I know that smells... safe.

I also like the smell of Cinnamon Pumpkin Pie!
