Is it just me but why is the Iranian president so sure of himself?
Why isnt he bothered about threats from the U.S and the U.N?
He seems to know something we don't ....maybe
Has he got something up his sleeve?
He just seems to be asking for trouble, threatening Israel, high profile talks with Hamas, (congratulating them) maybe he has struck a deal with China from what I gather he has moved all of his assets from Europe and transfered them to Asia.
Is it just me that thinks this?

No its not, there have been several discussion on here about why Iran’s president is doing all he can to play right into the hands of the US and the U.N. Theories range from he’s an agents of the CIA, to he’s just an idiot.

yeah, it occoured to me too, i've come up with three possibilities, although china could be a fourth for me, i hadn't heard about any links 'till now, anyway

poss. 1: he thinks the US is overstretched and can't afford to send in the troops, and no-one will back them up after the iraq/WMD lies,

poss. 2: he's playing domestic pollitics and will back down in the 11th hour

poss. 3: he's nut's

Maybe its a trap and the west is falling right into? War with Iran starts, then Korea jumps in along with Syria and maybe a few more countries. Then all of a sudden a few nukes pop off in the States leaving and everyone is #ed!

Yeah I am beginning to think he has suicidal tendencies.

there's a few other possiblitities, although I think the "he's nuts" would have to be a given for us to take any of them seriously.

one is, he already had what he see as one heck of a weapon and maybe a few agreements with other countries, like China, and actuallly thinks he can bring down the western world....

or, he could be just taking Saddam's place in the world, as our thorn in the side. I mean, come on, has anyone figured out just why Saddam did what he did....protecting so valiatly, wmd's that he really didn't have?? maybe they're both just a ruse, the bait so to speak, for us to humiliate ourselves with not to mention waste our resources on.

or maybe the lunatic is just getting a tad bit too impatient....he wants his 70 or whatever virgins, SOON, and will do anything to get them....

alot of the time, I tend to lean towards the bait hypothisis myself.

Perhaps, he really does want a conflict and seriously thinks that Allah will save his butt by destroying Israel and the USA. It would follow along the thinking that the USA and Israel are the Great Satan and surly Allah in all his wisdom will smite them for being arrogant and immoral unbelievers. Or as my Macaw Pedro says, "Maybe he's tried of watching The Brady Bunch reruns!"
..... Yep, that would do it for it me!

This is a man that helped take American hostages back in the late 70's as a student leader. ( Reports say that maybe is wasn't him...but hostages have identified him )

1. After Iran relased the hostages when Reagan was elected we ( America ) got a hold of this man and reprogrammed him with our agenda, to force Iran into war and claim more oil and destablize the mid-east more.

2. After the release we grabbed him and replaced him with a CIA replacement for the same purpose as stated above.

3. Iran - China - N.Korea - Syria - and some former Soviet Union States have gotten together to goat the US and UN into making the first move and poof - we are in a world war with the major players AGAINST us.

- One Man Short

( I see WASK already had this idea - number 3 - should of refreshed sooner )

I think he is confident because he is closer to a nuke than we think, becuase he knows Russia and China have his back as well as all the other Muslim nations, because the Israeli Prime minister is half-past dead and now there is noone to force a Pece plan on him, becasue the UNreally doenst do mhalf as much they could to stop him... because he knows the USA is busy with Iraq.... and most and foreall ...coming from HIS OWN MOUTH... because he believes HE IS DOING GOD's work to bring upon his Savior Iman Maddhi.

It's not like Ahmadinejad is president for the rest of his life, he has 2 years left so relax and the real people who run things around are the ayyatollahs but people think he's making all the decision and think he runs the nuclear program or the military. Hes merely a puppet/ more like a political one. The supreme council are the ones in charge of everything.

i think it's because he is a true believer who thinks he can bring his messiah back sooner. of course, this is just my opinion based on the data that i have compiled, but you might want to take a look at it.

If he doesnt run things in Iran someone is letting him talk them into trouble if the ayotollahs run the joint they should tell him to keep his mouth shut... politely
Am I right?

i would agree with that statement. iran is a theocracy with the supreme leader being an ayatollah. if he doesnt have the religious leaderships full support, he wouldnt be president....or at the very least, wouldnt be allowed to speak his mind so publicly.

Yes you are, If he was going against the Supreme Leader of Iran he would be swiftly dealt with, however judging by the silence we can assume he has their blessing.

I don't suppose it should be too surprising that no-one wants to even consider including the other option?

Namely that the guy and his government are merely standing up for what they see as their rights and what is right under a systematic attempt to intimidate and threaten them?

Just as with Saddam next door if the truth is as they say 'we' can demand all we like, they will never be able to prove a negative and it is clear that there are those determined to be suspicious no matter what hoops they jump through.

Rather than attempting to 'provoke' anyone I think it is quite possible they have gotten tired of jumping when others say.
The monitoring and inspection regime they had agreed to was already beyond treaty requirements and still it didn't satisfy.
So, maybe they have had enough.
For now.
It seems they are receptive to the Russian and Chinese people, maybe they'll help put this back on track.

People might not like it but simply being told to 'get lost' and holding some views people find offensive doesn't conjure up nuclear weapons and neither does it justify a new ME war.

why, ................ its his political SHTICK

also, in a very deep sense, he is 'convicted in the spirit'
or whatever the Muslim equivelent is to the Christians' unflappable obedience.

also, its still another clue that it may be the end-times,
because at the end-of-days mankind will
be in dirision and have clouded minds(according to prophecy)...

see how our President also is pressing on to help the Apocalypse & the Armageddon happen in his lifetime...just like Irans' President is doing...

perhaps, on a metaphysical level, Prophecy itself became 'alive' and is leading the opposing world leaders to commit to acts which will make them actors in the self-fufilling prophecy...

~or any # of other things could be in play~

Sorry but I don't buy into this whole Armageddon or Apocalypse thing, maybe its because wars, and even world wars have come and gone and I still don't see Jesus walking down my block, or maybe its because I’m an Atheist

Is not reason for the leader of Iran to become scare of any nation in the world, he has not declared any wars to any other country.

He also is the legally elected leader of a sovereign nation.

They hold what his enemies wants the most in his lands and have the right to protect it.

Iran is not the rag tag country rule by a totalitarian leader as Iraq was, they also have a very complex and structured government system that includes all the tribal- clerical leaders of the people.

Is really not reason for him to be scare at all.
