I quit my job to go somewhere else and now want to go back. I've never went back to an employer after quitting, this will be the first time. I was there for little over a year. Any advice on what to expect? What are the odds of me getting my job back? I already know all their stuff really well and did well when I was there. They are doing a lot of hiring so I should have a good chance. I just don't know what to expect.

How are you treated when you go back asking for a job? Do they usually start you back off with the same number of years so you get employee benefits? Or does it typically start all over where you have to put in another year or so to qualify? Will I be treated like a traitor and get passed over for future promotions? There has to be someone on here who has went through this before.

awww 148 views and not a reply, I shall try at least give U something to think about in your mission

I haven't been through it myself but I almost did ask for my old job back however life is taking me to another continent now lol

It depends on the relationship U have with the person U are asking (your boss) and also the circumstances U left under I think these 2 factors play a major key role in doing this.

If all was ok, and there are no ill-feelings between U and your boss I say go for it, U may be pleasantly surprised, he or she could be thrilled at having U back. I don't see how an employer wouldn't want an experienced person as opposed to someone fresh off the bat to work for them

I think that it can't hurt for U to ask, just be prepared to hear a 'no' which I think U are, just know that it could work in your favor too

I would say that any benefits and annual leaveU acquired before U left etc ... would all be re-instated and U wouldn't have to start over, this depends on the place of business and how long ago U left though I'd say.

Good luck! and let us know how U go/what U choose to do
