Though attacks on civilans tend to kill large numbers of people in comparison to attacks on coalition forces, figures from November 2004 suggest that such attacks comprise a very small proportion (4.1%) of insurgent activity. So you are saying that the insurgents are only effecive at killing civilians? As they suffer the greatest casualties. And as far as hostages are concerned, the vast majority of western hostages have been killed.
