James the lessing (by the day)

These days all that your posts comprise of is this fantasy conspiracy of me, truth, the only truth, jedimaster, and truths pupil being the same person.

Are you unable to talk about anything else because I think you are starting to be a bore. If you really want confirmation about all of us then ask Mr Simon Gray to tell you if were all the same.

people about christ and his church.

James the Lesser: Truth is not the only conservative Christian on these message boards. I strongly doubt that. For the most part, my beliefs are Christian. I reject the doctrines of eternal torment for most humans, the doctrine of original sin, and the idea that the world is only a few thousand years old though. Some of you people are being very mean to Truth. I disagree with some of what Truth says, but I can do so without ridiculing or making personal attacks. I was once a conservative Christian, so I can identify with that feeling of being right and everyone else being wrong. I now choose to promote religious tolerance.

I find it hard to believe that skin could stay on that bone for 77 million years. If it is fossilized flesh though, then that explains it.

Truth perhaps James is concerned about one person having multiple E-mails?

Alas if only you were honest then this sort of issue would not be one.

You know truth when you lie your subject to all sorts of problems. The problem is Truth that its the nature of the beast.

Dear Wintermorg,
I saw the article with pics on Rense.com.
I'm not sure if National Geo has the article or some other scientific sight. I'm still searching for the correct location. If I find it again I'll let you know.

people just wont admit god is real, and he created a young earth.

I just don't get it.

Go to a search engine and look this up.

peace.

None are condemned to Hell, rather by denying Christ they choose to go

Mummified flesh that has fossilized. Very interesting indeed. Didn’t know that could happen. Does anyone know of any other instances of this occurring?

As to the young earth thing, I’m a believer and I see nothing in scripture that requires a young earth. I also see nothing in science that requires dinosaurs to have disappeared millions of years ago. I find it entirely possible that the cataclysm that wiped out the mega fauna occurred much more recently than science currently believes.

Think again, it is possible... One scenario:

Put your god fearing body in a freezer set at about -77. I guarantee you that when your flesh attempts to exit 77 millions years from now, it will still be frozen.

When exactly do you think they existed, and how did most of them end up fossilized underground?

there was another, very recent example... and i believe it was found not too far from this one.

i'll try to dig up the story that i saw a few weeks back.

Well, haven given your post some thought, all that springs to mind is the late, great Bill Hicks

"You know the world's 12 thousand years old and dinosaurs existed, they existed in that time, you'd think it would have been mentioned in the Bible at some point.

"And lo Jesus and the disciples walked to Nazareth. But the trail was blocked by a giant brontosaurus... with a splinter in his paw.

And O the disciples did run a shriekin': 'What a big lizard, Lord!'

But Jesus was unafraid and he took the splinter from the brontosaurus's paw and the big lizard became his friend. And Jesus sent him to Scotland where he lived in a loch for O so many years inviting thousands of American tourists to bring their families and their dollar bills.

And oh Scotland did praise the Lord. Thank you Lord, thank you Lord. Thank you Lord."

Amen!

Wintermorg, I just saw a special on this last night, on NGC I think. Could have been SCI or DSC though. I'm thinking it will probably be rerun soon. Just check your listings.

A quick response to those who think this is somehow proof 'for' or 'against' Christianity. I see neither. The flesh was not soft and intact, but rather a fossilized section of tissue. Very unique, but not unheard of. Other mummified partial fossils have been found (Archeopterix, the feathered dino, for example, was found with feather imprints in the fossil). Neither does it disprove anything in the Bible, since Genesis deals with the creation of this world, without reference to what was before. "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was void and without form..." We all know the King James Bible is an interpretation of the original Hebrew/Greek text. So look it up! According to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, the original words that became 'void and without form' were Hebrew and meant 'desolate' and 'worthless'.

This brings up a possible scenario: the dinos were pre-creation. That's all that's required to stop the Biblical disproof debate.

Another fact to consider is that carbon-14 dating operates on unproved technology; that is, it assumes that carbon-14 decay into carbon-12 operated throughout history at the same rate it does today. This seems a logical assumption, but it is still an assumption. And when you add in the fact that carbon-14 dating requires the achaeologist to specify a time frame before it gives an answer, well, I just can't personally have much faith in tht type of system. It's just the best we have at present.

I think the discussion would be much more meaningful if we concentrated on what we can actually learn from this amazing discovery. The musculature of these animals has been little more than an educated guess until now, as has the markings and coloration. Now we have evidence! Yee-ha!

2 things:
1: the earth wasn't desolate or worthless prior to the existence of humanity, it was actually quite alive and vibrant.

2: radiometric dating techniques are completely sound... and carbon 14 dating isn't used on dinosaurs, potassium argon dating is.

Bill Hicks was the funnniest man who ever lived, yet strangely always bang on the mark, I dont mean to offend anyone but seriously can people really beleive the earth is only 6000 years old?

I personally dont think we can say with any certainly how old it is but the evidence certainly points to much more than 6000 years and well towards Millions of years & at the end of the day we need to make judgements from evidence not hearsay.

Regards

Paul

Are you talkin’ to me? Are YOU talkin’ to ME?!?!
Seriously, the quote and reply to functions are there for a reason.

I know for a fact that mineralization can occur much faster than science claims. See for yourself: take a fresh bone, bury it a couple feet deep in your back yard, put something heavy over it so nothing can dig it up, and then come back three or four years later and see what you’ve got. I’ve done it, and it works. Make your own 'fossils' for fun and profit!

I also recommend reading the works of Immanuel Velikovskey

you really don't see how you're completely off here, do you?

first of all.. i remember even bill nye the science guy taught that you can mineralize something quite quickly...
secondly, not all bones mineralize...
thirdly, a bare bone is different than a decaying body that hasn't been buried purposely
lastly, potassium argon dating.
