Unbelievable, just unbelievable. Sheehan is going to challenge Diane Feinstein and run for California senator because "She voted for the war. She continues to vote for the funding. She won't call for an immediate withdrawal of the troops..."

If Sheehan gets elected, I don't know what this state has come to.

Sheehan is a shameless media whore, who would never have garnered a second glance among the all the marxist radicals of Berkeley, if it had not been for the selfless sacrifice of her son, which she debases and exploits every day of her pathetic exisitence.

"If I decided to run, I would have no illusions of winning, but it would bring attention to all the peace candidates in the country," she said.

I posted this in PTS:

Cindy Sheehan Threatens Diane Feinstein Over Alito

It is amazing!

I don't think words can accurately express my feelings towards this. I'd say i'ts mostly made of disbelief.

I'd just like to thank all of the Sheehan fans for keeping her in the news here on ATS/BTS/PTS.

I especially appreciate the expletives used to debase her! Keep it goin' guys!
Keep her name alive!

Oh! And Vote for Cindy!

Cin-DY, Cin-DY, Cin-DY!

In a state that elected the Govinator? No way!

I also want to second the notion BH made obvious; Why dont you pro-war guys just let this lady be? I'd seldom hear her name anymore if you guys would stop bringing her up. She is a terrible face for a resistance.

Why doesn't she just let us be? The woman (and I use that term very loosely) is out campaigning for Hugo Chavez for God's sake! As well as getting into the nomination/confirmation process of Supreme Court justices! What in the hell does either of those topics have to do with a grieving mother?

So... she's only allowed to be and portray a 'grieving mother' in public? That's who she is and that's the only dimension she's allowed to explore? She's not allowed to state and campaign for her political views? She doesn't share the right of free speech with every other citizen of the USA? She's only one-dimensional?

Who are you to say what she should be doing, how she should be acting and what she should and shouldn't be saying?

In other words, SO WHAT?

And since you use the term 'woman' loosely when talking about Cindy Sheehan, what is a woman to you deej? Someone who keeps her place, shuts her mouth, crosses her legs like a lady and doesn't venture into politics?

Well-behaved Women Rarely Make History!

Go Cindy!

It's shameful to be so utterly emotional that you could sink so low as to attack a grieving mother. History will remember her as it remembers Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King. Those who debased her b/c they disagreed with her position will go down in shame.

Its pretty weak guys. You'd flip out if someone talked about your mama because you didn't see things the same as them.

Cindy Sheehan will not beat Diane Feinstein. If she did, I would be very surprised.

Oh, please, spare me the grieving mother crap. If she's a grieving mother, then I'm Joan of Arc.

She's a media whore with delusions of liberal political grandeur.

I think the point that some of us are trying to make is that Sheehan doesn't act like a greiving mother.
Her actions do seem to be done more for a 15 minutes of fame type of deal rather than to bring awareness of her sons death.
But how can anyone not be aware of the troop losses when the media almost eagerly give the numbers out on a nearly nightly basis in the hopes of swaying public opinion.

Losing a loved one in this senseless and illegal occupation gives Cindy Sheehan more credibility than anyone on this thread. Unless you have lost someone to it.

She is full of righteous indignation. What mother with a brain, who's lost a child to this folly wouldn't be?

Do yourselves a favor, quit frothing at the mouth, and talking X about her. So you disagree. Big deal. Have a little bit of class. Or is that a foreign concept?

How hard is it to dispassionately discuss Sheehan's possible run for Feinstein's Senate seat?

Our favorite anti-war voicebox was arrested yesterday for wearing a shirt that had the number of soldier deaths, and a message saying something to the effect of "how many more." Normally, I dont really care about any of this, even Norman Mailer got arrested for protesting, but to arrest the lady for her t-shirt seems like a huge step on the 1st amendment.

We do still follow that constitution thingy right?

Cindy in the same league as Rosa Parks?
Oh gawd ... that's funny. No ... that's insane.

Now MLK perhaps. Part of the population doesn't give
a rats back end about MLK. Another part worships him
as a god incarnate. And yet another part sees that he
was a SERIOUSLY flawed man ... a man who plagerized
and got away with it .. a man who was a blatant and
unrepentant uncontrollable adulterer ... a liar ... etc etc

She won't. President Hillary will make sure the dems political
machine doesn't include Sheehan. Hillary met with her and,
from the media reports, wasn't impressed with her.

As far as what, politically, the state of California has come to ...
THAT's a loaded statement that requires a thread
all it's own.

Does anyone know Sheehan's political qualifications?

Last I heard being a grieving mother isnt a good enough resume tag to even get you on the ballot. I seriously doubt any campaign she tries to start now will even get enough steam to dent the polls.

there are other grieving mothers too, you know. Though they have just a bit more class than Ms. Sheehan, and keep their grieving private, and to themselves.

Will someone please tell her gently that her 15 minutes are up?

Diane Fienstein has little or nothing to fear.

I think the little publicity stunt she pulled with Venezualn Pres Hugo Chavez a while back demolished any bit of credibility she may have earned politically.
Not all greiving parents support the anti-war crowd.
There are quite a few here in Michigan (Especially Arab American parents) who are proud ot have sons and daughters fight for the liberation of Iraq. They are devastated when they lose a child, but most still forge ahead beeliving it was for a worthy cause.
I had a best friend in Iraq as a US Marine, took aprt in the battles for Fallujah and Ramadi, I would've been with him had it not been for beign a diabetic. (Military can't take me. You can't have a war stop every two hours so you can ingest 30 grams of protein)

She announced that she would not run, but she would "continue to be a thorn in the side of Feinstein."

She urged Americans to vote for any anti-war candidates.

She isnt so much a thorn as she is annoying. I consider myself pretty liberal and anti-war as well and this lady is a horrible face to put on a resistance. Where is our real leaders? Feingold? Schumer? We need a real patriot to give us a face. Not politicians, and not middleaged soccer moms. Any takers?

She's annoying? She's a mother who lost a child.

I'd bet you've never even lost a dog you loved.
