Chatter from Al-Quieda

A post on another thread got me thinking.

Since AQ (I'm sure I misspelled it in the title) knows that we listen in on them on their websites and all, why would they use those websites to distribute information to other AQ operatives? I mean, couldn't they be using these sites as disinfo to get us to look in the wrong places? If you were AQ and wanted to plan something, would you use a known AQ website to do it?

We hear about chatter on these websites all day long and usually nothing comes of it. Could they be using this to distract us from something else bigger in the picture?

...or could the talk of "chatter" just be more booga-booga to keep the fear factor ramped up?
