Well strange but true - I finished work on 2nd january, 4 in the morning and I was looking directly upwards (clear sky) when I observed a expanding white light generally circular it grew from nothing to the size of a UK 5 pence piece it then contracted inwards fading to orange colour then vanished. No trail of light was noticed.

This was directly above a town called kilsyth in scotland. It was very high, no sound. I thought shooting star but no trail and this was very high possibly outside the atmosphere. I don't usually write about this type of thing but this was very strange never seen anything like it before.

Since there seems to have been a few unexplained observations lately i thought i would chuck mine in to add to the hysteria.

Anyone can explain this too me appreciated, astronomy not my strong point.

And i was sober at the time

That sounds really neat. I didnt think that a huge explosion like that would go away so fast though.
