Israeli elections are in March, Israel has given a deadline of March for the UN to take action else it will strike Iran, and the Iranian oil exchange is due in March. Russia was due to sign a huge arms deal with Iran in March but have canceled. Now we have claims that Iran is to test a bomb in March.

Anyone else notice the pattern emerging?

I'm wondering if this is really all about the Israeli elections as much as anything else?

Maybe they'll use the 321 countdown. 3/21 ??? one more date to watch I quess.

If you look at cnn.com, they have a breaking news story marked in red at the top of the page (although it may be published as a regular article by now) saying President Bush will visit India and Pakistan in March.

Hmm, that'd definitly be a region to make sure that everyone is 'on board' if there is open action in the middle east. Can't have pakistan being left in the dark if there's going ot be an invasion of iran.

For a while now some people in that part of the world have been calling for the formation of 'pashtunistan', for the regions of other countries inhabited by Pashtuns to break away and form their own country.

Though this doesn't concern Iran specifically. But perhaps it will be worked out that Pakistan gets control of parts of Iran in exchange for taking it easy on kashmir, or at least that something like that is being floated.

THen again, can't see why Bush would personally be required to have talks about that.

At the very least though action in Iran could precipiate a greater islamic revolt, and people like musharraf, it'd be important to make sure that they are strong enough to withstand such an uprising. Obviously India would have to be prepared, if onyl to not react if musharraf seems like he is loosing out and radicals might get pak-nukes.
